About this item

  • SPINRITE DIFFERENCE - It starts with industrial CNC-grade ER20 collets, a carefully machined internal taper on the shaft, and a precision collet nut. These three critical components combine to deliver significantly less run-out than the most popular 3HP class routers.
  • 3.25HP ROUTER MOTOR - This 3.25HP router lift motor is 4.2" in diameter and is built without tabs or pins making it easy to mount the motor in most major brands of router lifts, including Woodpeckers Router Lifts.
  • SOFT START FEATURE - When you turn the Spin-Rite on, you’ll notice the soft-start feature ramps the speed up smoothly, saving wear and tear on both the router and the lift (or gantry). Once it’s at speed, you’ll notice minimal vibration and 75% quieter operation.
  • VARIABLE SPEED CONTROL - There’s infinite speed control from a low of 10,000 rpm to 22,000 rpm. Whether you’re ploughing a tiny 1/16" vee-groove or doing wide raised panel doors, you can always find the right speed for the job. Just dial it in.
  • ER-20 COLLETS - Two collets are included, 1/2" and 1/4". Changing them is a snap, literally. Just snap one out and the next one in. You can get ER-20 collets in sizes from as small as 1/16" to a max of 1/2", in imperial and metric sizes.

Product Description

spinrite router motor

SpinRite router motors are built from the ground up to deliver optimum performance in a router lift or a small shop CNC. It starts with industrial CNC-grade ER20 collets, a carefully machined internal taper on the shaft, and a precision collet nut. These three critical components combine to deliver significantly less run-out than the most popular 3HP class routers on the market. Then, there’s infinite speed control from a low of 10,000 rpm to 22,000 rpm. When you turn the Spin-Rite on, you’ll notice the soft-start feature ramps the speed up smoothly, saving wear and tear on both the router and the lift (or gantry). Once it’s at speed, you’ll notice minimal vibration and 75% quieter operation. It all comes together to deliver a better surface finish, less operator fatigue and longer tool life.

ER-20 collets have become the standard in the industry around the world. Most have 8 segments, compared to the typical router collet with 4 or possibly 6. The closing taper is longer, smoother, and ground to a much tighter tolerance. Two collets are included, 1/2" and 1/4". Changing them is a snap, literally. Just snap one out and the next one in. You can get ER-20 collets in dozens of sizes from as small as 1/16" to a maximum of 1/2", in imperial and metric sizes. If you’re a typical router user, you may never need anything other than 1/2" and 1/4", but with the ER-20 system, if you find a bit you want in 3/8" or 8mm, you can be sure you can get a collet to fit.

Whether you’re ploughing a tiny 1/16" vee-groove or doing wide raised panel doors, you can always find the right speed for the job. Just dial it in. The electronics that control the motor’s speed also provide the soft-start feature. The collet wrenches included with the SpinRite are offset, so you can reach down below table level to change bits, if necessary. The 3.25HP motor has a 4.2" cylindrical body while the 2.25HP motor has a 3.5” body, and there are no tabs or pins on either version—making it effortless to mount the motor in most major brands of router lifts, including Woodpeckers. Even the switch and speed control dial have been positioned optimally for access in lifts and gantries. And, there’s no hand-held base to sit on your shelf and catch dust. This router is built to be part of a routing system, period.

I do not recommend purchasing this motor. I purchased this router motor to be used in our prototype shop at work. Mainly used on baltic birch and mdf. This motor was used about a dozen times before it quite working. I believe the mdf dust was its demise. Started to make horrible squealing noises and then just froze. Turned it off before it started a fire. I have used an old Porter Cable motor in my personal shop for 10+ years with no issue...I wish they still made one.

First know that this review is not based on router performace as i have not used it. This router is way too loud. I have owned 5 different types of routers from Bosch, Dewalt, Milwaukee, Festool but this beats the cake in terms of noise. Way too loud. I am aware that this is the 3.25 HP motor but so is my Milwaukee and is rather 3.5 HP and i can tell you both at max speed that this SpinRite router is louder. The noise at high speed on routers is nothing new and possibly i would have let that part go but the main reason for the stars and returning is that the speed control knob has ABSOLUTELY NO markings as to the speed of router. I keep turning but there is no number or anything that indicates what speed the router is going which is critical for the optimal performance and lengevith of the router bits. I have some router bits that cost almost as much as this router. I really wanted to like this router because of Woodpeckers but sad fact is that this is made by a third party in China. Almost looks identical to the BORA 3.25 HP router.

Very glad this was available through Amazon. My original motor for my Woodpecker router table died and this was a drop on replacement for the Porter Cable. It is a bit louder but I should wear the hearing protection anyway, now I do for sure!

While the router itself works fine, the lack of indicators on the speed knob is very poor design. It's quite important to know how many RPMs you're running based on your bit size. This router has absolutely zero indication, no numbers, nothing, to tell you what speed it's set at. You have to blindly guess.

Needed a larger more powerful motor for my router table, and this does the trick perfectly
