It restricts water flow to the sprinklers and no way or allowing more water to go through.

Our sprinkler system decided to spring a leak and with living in AZ, we didn't have much of a desire to dig everything up right now. That'll be a winter project! But we still needed to keep the grass watered and we weren't doing a very good job at remembering to water. This was a perfect, inexpensive answer!
