No problems installing SSD drive, transferring a few files is quick, transferring a bunch of files the transfer rate seems to slow down, works well enough for my needs.

Beware!!!! it will erase your m2 drive the first time it is installed and booted up!!!I thought I would be able to transfer the data off of this card using this device before reformatting it, but it ended up erasing it while I was trying to transfer the data and I only got a couple files off! There was zero warning about this. I’ve seen other enclosures give warning about this kind of function, but this one didn’t mention it at all.

Well, it works. With that said, I bought this thing solely because of the fan to keep the ssd cool. However, the fan is so loud and annoying that I have to wear ear buds to try and block out the buzzing sound of the fan. This evening I will take it apart and hopefully rip out the fan or disable it to make this tolerable to use.

This enclosure is pretty nice. It works well, and I like the addition of the fan that helps to keep the SSD cool. It was super easy to setup, got it up and running in a couple minutes. It feels pretty durable too, so it will hopefully last for a while. The price is about average, but this feels nicer than other enclosures I've used, so probably worth the cost. No complaints so far.

I ordered this SSD enclosure to house a 500GB SSD to transfer computer backups to a secure location. The enclosure housing is very well built from what appears to be Aluminum. Setup was easy but if you need instructions they were rather minimal. The transfer rate is good. I did not measure the transfer rate but it works much quicker than the thumb drive I was using.

This SSD enclosure was exactly what I needed! I have a 2280 SSD lying around unused, and this enclosure allowed me to finally store all my valuable pictures and family videos. This is not a coolest design and does require some assembly. I put a Gen 3 HP NVME drive in here as saw no issues with performance. The drive stayed cooled thanks to the active fan that is present.The enclosure is USB-C but also works with USB-A cables. You will see decreased performance using a USB-A cable but nothing like a USB gen 2 port. I wished the activity LED was moved top side instead of shining through the vent of the fan.They include a thermal pads for the included heat sink. Sadly doesn't appear to have heatsink for doubled sided drives (also known as dual rank). That is something I am sure could be remedy easily by the user. The enclosure does have some bulk to it and that corresponds with the weight of it. However it's something that isn't ungodly hard to pack with when you are on the go.

I was using a sabrent enclosure which despite saying was perfect for all NVMe drives couldn't dissipate heat in any useful form. It caused the controller to continually overheat causing constant disconnects.This enclosure is entirely aluminium with a great selection thermal pads to ensure you can get your drive to have perfect thermal conductivity with the case/ heatsink.The major player here though is the amazing little fan. This makes an absolutely massive difference compared to non active cooling.I wish I'd found and bought this before the sabrent. I've been using this full time for a week now with a Samsung Evo 970 drive connected to a PS5 for running PS4 games from. I've not had a single disconnect or issue and the thermals are superb.Most devices can only utilise 10gbps data transfer, so bear in mind if you connect this to anything under usb 3.2 you may not even achieve 10gbps (1GB/s) speeds. .You will not need a high end super fast NVMe for any enclosure (even thunderbolt / usb 4 at 40gbps) as the drive is way faster than three usb standard can utilise.So pop a cheaper 3-4000MB/s drive into this rather than a top end 14,000MB/s and then wonder why you can't move faster than a gigabyte per second.If you have a device capable of usb 3.2 at 20gbps or usb 4 / thunderbolt at 40gbps then look for a similar actively cooled enclosure capable of those speeds.On another note. It's also possible to use this enclosure replacing the top heatsink with an aftermarket one for more efficient heat dissipation as there's space in the enclosure to do so (see photo). If you need it portable and want to carry around day to day then obviously this isn't the way to go. Also get a small carry pouch to help keep any fluff etc out of the fan.Overall the build quality and performance are above par for the price.Very happy.

This device was very easy to assemble. A single screw comes out and you can easily plug in your SSD. Then the cover goes back on and the screw for the cover is the same screw that holds the SSD down, providing space between the drive and cover by its design.It comes with cables to support both USB A and C to connect to the computer, and no additional power supply is needed. The enclosure has a cooling fan which is very quiet in operation. The instructions do state it is made for WIN 7, however formatting of the drive and recognition on WIN 11 worked without issue. Great to not have to install the SSD and give the option to transfer between devices.
