Only downfall is with the saltwater the hook for the lanyard is rusting other then that a solid dehooker!

I manage a metal fabrication shop. This thing is pretty well built. I was going to make one myself but for the money it was cheaper to buy this. I'd recommend this product to any fisherman.

This is made and designed perfectly for the task. The shaft goes through the bottom of the hollow handle and touches up at the top. The weld holding the shaft in is complete, finished, and done correctly.Mine came slightly bent, from the looks of the packaging I'd say it happened during transport to me. I mention this because it took some SERIOUS force for me to bend it back straight. This let me know that it will handle the force that I sometimes need to use to dislodge hooks from small sharks that I accidentally catch from time to time.My "Nit Picks" about this are the ends of the handle tube and the end of the Rod at the Hook removing bend weren't de-burred very well. I resolved this with a piece of sand paper and about 2 minutes of time though. Not taking a star off for that since everything else is as good as could be expected.I feel this is good value and should last for many years of use.

Super light weight. Quality is not for the everyday fisherman. It’s a decent little remover for the price. Spend the money and get a better one!

I haven't had a chance to use this yet, so I cant comment on how it works when in use - but I can comment on the build and feel. Overall the metal seems to be sturdy enough. The metal is not very heavy, but its also not so light that you feel like its cheap or going to bend or break - overall I feel like it will work well.The design itself is nice idea - I cant tell you how many times I've hooked myself trying to get the hook out of a fishes mouth. One thing I'm a little hesitant on embrace is the little clip on the bottom - I don't think i will be using that so much (ill probably take it off - but some people may like it since it guarantees that the tool wont get lost in the water. the only problem i can forsee with it is that the tool doesnt come a holster - so you can have it clipped to your belt loop but it will just be hanging down swinging all over - doesnt really sound like a good idea to me.)My Overall grade = B+PS I'll update this review if anything changes.
