Using Your New System - 3X Lock, Long Range Remote

This remote is pretty easy to install after reading the instructions and watching the video. Do Both!! It took approx. 30 minutes for the install. Detach the fuel and hood latch to provide more room for your hands. When I pushed in the black button and plugged in the black connector, the colored led lights continued to alternate. When you see only the blue led light, release the black button and plug in the remaining 2 connectors. Note: It will not stop automatically on the blue led light. You must release the button while the blue is illuminated. The video shows the install, while the paper instructions are for programming. Clean and easy install.

Works fantastic with my 2021 RAV4 XLE. Great for starting the car with the key fob, can upgrade the unit to start from even further with the cellphone. Over all pretty easy install, only took about 20-30 minutes! Haven’t had any issues and would recommend!

I am extremely happy whenever I can stick it to Toyota. You spend $50K on a vehicle and they want you to buy an extra annual subscription for a remote start. Along with the Toyota Crap App with the Experience Drive Connect a subscription at an additional cost. (DELETE the Toyota App and use Apple CarPlay instead). This remote is pretty easy to install after reading the instructions and watching the video. The space is tight and I have big hands. So I also removed the step cover and left side kick panel. I was then able to get the fuel and hood latch panel more out of way giving me more room. The instructions explain the remote black box, but the video doesn’t cover it. When I pushed in the black button and plugged in the black connector; the colored led lights continued to alternate nonstop. When you see only the blue led light, release the black button and plug in the 2 white connectors. Note: it will not stop automatically on the blue led light. They will continue to alternate nonstop unless you follow the instructions above. This kit is AWESOME!!!!

I have a 2023 RAV4 push to start. I decided not to pay the extortion fee ( they call it a subscription ) for the crappy factory one after Toyota shut it off. Mine would often not start, even at close range and a new fob battery. Not anymore!! I installed the Start-X kit I got here on Amazon. It was an easy install and functions 10 times better than factory. Three taps to the lock button and no more holding it down. Car now RELIABLY starts right up!! Best part is it was plug and play, and uses the same fob I already have. No wire cutting and easy to restore to original and take with me should I need to do so. The install videos on YouTube were the best help as the directions are not that great. HINT: The flat tool in this kit to take off the dash panels also has another VERY useful function they don’t tell you about. Big hands and fingers make unplugging the factory connection hard in the tiny space in the RAV dash. I was just about to hire the neighbor kid before I made a discovery. The flat tool works GREAT for reaching in and depressing the tab, releasing the factory plug. Once you put on the T harness, it also helps you line up the new plug and push it home. Made it easy!! 10 stars for this kit if I could!

Toyota felt the need to only include starting via the paid app for some versions of the RAV4. Thank goodness for aftermarket options. Link to video was great for the initial install however it ended prior to the actual setup procedure needed to made it work. It wasn’t clear at least to me what one needed to do for the actual programming steps once connections and made to the car. Small hands would have been great making the connections in dash as the video made it appear much easier to make connections than it was. Once you start the programming you connect only the black connector to the module while pressing the button and holding it. It will cycle thru the lights on the module and never stop on the blue light allowing you to release the button as expected. While the blue light is illuminated you release the button. Then you connect the white and red connectors to the module. Once I figured out the process it worked as advertised.

Added this to a 2022 Rav4 Trail. Install space was a little tight but with patience you can do it. The hardest part for me was putting the rav4 panel cover back into it's retaining clips. Starter works as expected on first try with no error codes. 30 minutes max install time. Good value for $200.

My local Toyota dealer wanted almost $1000 to install a factory remote starter. I purchased this unit and has it installed in 15 minutes. The video is straightforward, the install location is easy to access although disconnecting and reconnecting the cables was a bit of a challenge. Programming the unit was straightforward as instructions are clear and included in the box. With this unit I can start my car using the factory remote.Definitely worth it if you want to add remote start to your Rav4 and want to spend a fraction of what the dealer charges!This unit and 15 minutes of my time: $250Dealer installed: $900

It took me 30-45 mins to install, it should have taken 10-15. Comes with everything you need, works amazingly if u follow the steps on the video, and then follow the programing instructions on manual(which takes 30 seconds from start to finish). The only difficult thing you should have to deal with, has nothing to do with the product: it’s very tight and tough to get into the circuits in the rav4 if you have big hands, so a small helper would make your life so much easier

Installed on my 2022 RAV4 Trail AWD following instruction paper and video on line. No tools needed, works well.I am relatively handy so no problem for me to install it. It may be difficult for someone who never do DIY works. Dealer asked for $1,000 plus so this is a great deal. Recommend.
