Steel Tongue Drum Instructions
Correct Placement
With the center bear claw facing up, directly below is Bass 6 and directly above is Bass 7.
One-Handed Tapping
1. Relax your wrist and fingers and let the drumstick fall freely, not too hard;
2. Strike the corresponding note directly, on the upper half of the steel tongue.
Two-Handed Tapping
1. The left hand is responsible for the notes: bass 6, 2, 4, 6, treble 1, treble 3;
2. The right hand is responsible for the notes: 1, 3, 5, 7, treble 2, bass 7, bass 5.

I really like this steel tongue drum. I have several different ones and this one is a nice large size. The blue-green color is really nice and the tongues are really cute with the little bear faces engraved in them. The woven waistband around the drum helps dampen stray vibrations and has a nice design on it. There are two pairs of mallets of different sizes so you can chose your preference.

Sometimes you just want a different sound to add a little something different to a recording or jam, and this is a nice flavor to have around. It's a simple instrument so it's of course quite limited in what you can play. I like the accessories it came with: the bag, the 2 sets of mallets... but don't bother with the little finger mallets, you can't get a good sound with those (it's very muted). Overall, it's a good value.

I was very impressed when this drum arrived! It is just like it looks and sounds in the listing. It comes with a nice storage case, 2 different size mallets, and directions. My husband plays the drums and we have several kids that enjoy music. They are going to love adding this to their music instrument collection!
