I like this heater for the protective cover with suction cups, the electronic controller, and the small size. I also like that it came with a protective wrap for the cord where it bends over the top of the tank. I previously had a circulation pump in my saltwater tank that did not have this protection and got a big shock once when the covering was cut by the top edge of my tank. Now I am sure to always use a protective wrap for high voltage cords going into my tank. I got this heater in the 300w size to replace an expensive 300w Ehime that was in our 110 gal turtle tank after I found water/condensation inside of it. This new one came well packed as shown. Installation was easy in the tank and following the directions to set the temp for +/- one degree F was also simple. I raised the temp from 76F to 78F with this new heater. I set it and observed while it cycled. It heats up to the set point of 78F, then shuts off. As the tank water was still cooler than that, it would drop to 77F before the red light would come on and it would increase to the 78F set point before shutting off again. I have used it for about a week now and am happy with the stable temp of our tank.

My fish tank heater failed and I needed a new one ASAP. My old one was a traditional glass heating tube heating with a dial setting for the temperature so I maintained the heat properly by using the little glass thermometer in my tank. I got this one through Amazon as I could get quick delivery.I liked the look of the new on along with the digital temperature setting and display. It allows you to set it and forget about it. Upon receipt I immediately put into my 30 gallon tank as my fish were cold. It slowly brought the heat to the desired temperature according to the digital display however the digital display showed a temperature that was about 2 degrees warmer than my glass in the tank thermometer. Not sure which was right but either way it was in the safe range for my tropic al fish. It is easy to select the temperature you want. It also has a precision mode or an energy saving mode. In precision mode it turns on when the water temperature drops more than one degree lower than the set temperature and in the energy savings mode it does not kick in until the water temperature is more than two degrees lower. Sounds kind of gimmicky as I don't think the energy savings mode will be noticeable on my electric bill. I opted to set in it precision mode. It has been in the tank for a while now and holds the temperature steady. I am happy with this tank heater and so are my fish.

I purchased a 300-watt heater for my 40-gallon aquarium and set the temperature to 74°F. To verify its accuracy, I used two different types of thermometers, and both provided relatively consistent readings. Our room temperature during the colder months is around 65°F.The heater automatically turns on when the water temperature drops 2°F below the set temperature. To activate the energy-saving mode, simply hold the right button for six seconds. The dual-temperature digital LED display shows both the current and set temperatures, making it easy to monitor. This aquarium heater also features overheating protection for added safety. The upper and lower glass suction cups are very strong, keeping the heater securely in place. Additionally, it is well-sealed and does not leak.I recommend this product—it’s very easy to operate with just one button. The temperature display, automatic heating, and power-saving functions work well. Overall, it's a good-quality heater.

I have an aquatic turtle habitat for my red-eared slider that has always been a challenge to maintain a consistent temperature since it is a half-and-half environment where the 50-gallon tank is only half full in order to create a basking area. I've tried other standard heating elements with varying degrees of success but this 200W unit has proven to be a real winner on multiple fronts. The first is the digital readout that combines the existing water temperature with the target temperature so I always know at a glance if things are where they should be. The second is the tolerance range options of either 1 or 2 degrees before the heater kicks in and does its thing, making it super efficient and avoiding potentially wide temperature swings, especially at night. The good length of the element means it can heat the longer water area reliably and consistently, and I like that it has a protective cage around all sides so there's no chance of my turtle getting burned or injured with it. The instructions are easy to follow on how to configure the settings although there's only one push-button that does everything so it takes a little practice to get it right. It starts out with a default temperature setting of 78 F and each short press of the button will advance it by 0.5 degrees. If you miss your mark, you have to press through to the max of 93 F so it will reset back to the minimum of 56 degrees and work your way up from there. The suction cups grip and hold the unit securely even when my turtle is in full on 'active' mode and swimming about, and I like that it has a secondary, smaller, suction cup to help with securing the power cord that you can slide up and down the cord to fit your needs. The package also includes strips of velcro self-adhesive pads for attachment to the back of the control box so you can attach it to the side of a stand or to the aquarium glass, making it conveniently accessible to see the readings and make adjustments. I'm also using a 500W unit by this same manufacturer with a 60-gallon bowfront aquarium and it's performing equally well compared to the 200W. My initial impression is that it's a sturdy and high-quality heating unit and a great value for the price.
