This baby does the job QUIETLY and Quickly! Comes with adapters to use with multiple hose types. I use it to quickly drain a portable bathtub at night with a small child and adult sleeping nearby. You just need to be sure that you coordinate yourself well with access to the plug to stop the pump when finished because there is no on/off switch and you do not want the pump to run dry. Excellent product to properly set and (somewhat) forget!

I used it to drain a garden fountain and it worked. Next time I used it to try to drain accumulated water on a patio it did not work and wouldn't run thereafter. A troubleshooting on Amazon site was not helpful. I contacted the support email address on the skimpy owners manual and got no response.

I got my submersible water pump yesterday, just in time for the approaching hurricane. I needed to empty my pool to prevent water from spilling into my home. Using the pump was incredibly easy. I simply attached the 1.5" NPT (L shape) to point the outlet up and connected it to the ¾” NPT, then attached my 5/8” hose. After dropping the pump into the pool and connecting the cable to the outlet, it started emptying the pool slowly. The quick-connect accessories made it very user-friendly. The pump also comes with a 20 ft. power cord long enough to reach the outlet. Although I haven't read the manual yet, it's supposed to be able to remove water down to just a half inch, but it's not recommended as the pump can burn out if it starts sucking in air.My only issue is how slow it is to empty the pool. The ad states that it can empty a 15,000-gallon swimming pool in 5 hours, and I have left the pump connected to a 5/8” hose for the last 6 hours, and it barely has made it to the first step, which is about 8 inches from the top. Anyway, I doubt this thing can pump out 3430 GPH since the attachment won’t fit a hose bigger than 5/8” in diameter, and the motor pump is not that powerful to generate a flow to push that much water out. Still, I rated it four because 1) it's so easy to work right out of the box, 2) it can even pump out dirtier water, which other pumps can’t do as effectively. Last but not least, it’s light and versatile, and the quick-connect accessories make it stand out above others. It is slow, but I don’t think many would want to use it to empty a big pool like me.
