This Taylor Precision USB Rechargeable Digital Instant Read Food Thermometer caught my eye with the rechargeable aspect of it. I swear I never have those little batteries that the battery operated ones always take! This instant thermometer is pretty easy to read and the accuracy seams pretty consistent. When compared to another thermometer I have (that was ridiculously expensive by the way) it was pretty much within a few degrees in all of my tests. Overall pretty happy with thisZ

I've been using Taylor-brand thermometers for food service since I my early days as a chef. I've always found their tools accurate and dependable, so when I saw they made a rechargeable version, I had to try it out. It's accurate as expected, but is a lot bulkier than I was expecting based on my experience with their other products. It's definitely not something that you're going to pop into a pocket on a chef jacket, so I suspect they designed this for home use. That said, it still takes up more real estate in a kitchen drawer than I'd like to. A thermometer should fit anywhere, but this one left me wanting in that regard. My kitchen storage is at a premium, so I didn't like having to rearrange things to fit this in. The sleeve that protects the probe is also where the charging cord is stored, so you can't set it flat unless you store it face down. Not a deal breaker, just a little odd, but good because you're less likely to lose the charging cable, but it's a standard USB, so who doesn't have about 20 of those lying around? It's very easy to read, and nice for home cooks that the probe cover clearly lists the required temps for various types of meat. I like the lighted display and that it's easy to read, but personally, I'd like to see that in a more compact package.

I really love that this thermometer is rechargeable. They always seem to quit that the worst times! I checked it in boiling water and it read 212, and 32 in ice water so i believe it to be acceptably accurate however, it is on the slower side for an instant read thermometer, taking up to 30 second to settle on a temp that was not fluctuating. That's not a huge deal for something like a roast, but it makes it less than ideal for smaller cuts, and potentially disastrous for things like tempering chocolate or making candy.Overall, I would recommend spending a little more for something faster, and keeping spare batteries on hand. I do not recommend this model, which is surprising because TAYLOR thermometers tend to be great, this one just didn't quite hit the mark.

This is a good accurate thermometer that reads fast and has a plastic storage pocket. There's a little USB-C charge cable on the case wrapped around 2 large protruding tabs. The tabs are annoying and it makes this little thermometer much bulkier than it should be. The case has some temp guide lines on the front. I plan to break off the little tabs or even saw them off.

Taylor is a brand name that is familiar to me for scale and thermometers. I love the idea of having a rechargeable thermometer. We already have one for the BBQ don’t like it’s loudness. It’s bigger than I expected. The head is almost twice as wide as a teaspoon. For people who like big displays, this is great. I wish it wasn’t so bulky in for my drawer.Compared to our other thermometer, they were pretty closer when using room temperature water. For cooked items, I had some trouble because of hot spots in the broth. Once I measure the braised chicken, the Taylor thermometer was pretty consistent in different parts of the meat. My other thermometer varied more on temperature.Overall it’s a good thermometer but I personally wish it was smaller.

I have been using a small thermometer, from this same brand, with a battery, for many years. Though it has worked for me; my eyesight is not what it used to be. The numbers on this thermometer are much larger and a lot easier for me to read. It’s rechargeable, which I like. It is charged with a USB-C cord. A short cord, which can be wrapped around the back of the holder, is included. AC charger is not included. You may wish to store the USB-C cord separately, if you think it might get food upon it. It shows the temperature rather quickly. This thermometer is Made in China. If you don’t mind a smaller size, you can purchase them for just over 12 bucks. But for me the much larger size works best for me. I still think that over 30 bucks is overpriced, but I still find it worth it for me.
