I am working on an audio detection project and wanted to use this with my ESP32, none of these microphones work. I tried it without soldering, then tried them after soldering them, it only gave me garbage values nothing useful

This is supposed to let you select between 60db, 50db, or 40db gain but is always stuck at 60db regardless of the setting.

Even with a lot of shielding at full gain there is considerable noise. However with the two lower gain settings the noise is considerably reduced. The mic audio sounds clear if a little bassy. Removing the mic and attaching external audio results in clean audio. Again, the lower gain settings are best.Worth getting as long as you don't expect high fidelity. Good for smaller projects.

I can only assume I made a mistake somewhere as I've never before received anything that 100% of the items failed to work (other than single piece orders). That said, I tried multiple wiring methods ie. headers with jumpers, breadboard, and directly soldering the wiring to the board and bridging the connection for a 40db output. I tried the 60 and 50 db as well using the other methods but couldn't get an actual usable signal to feed into wled. At times the lights would react but paying close attention would reveal that it was due to signal noise and not audible noise. I would like to believe that I wasn't sold 3 completely nonfunctional parts and that I must've made a mistake. I know now that analog mics are not recommended for wled and have since ordered digital ones but have yet to have a chance to try them. That said, while these are not recommended, they are supposed to be usable with wled so take this review how you want to. I often see other people trash products that work with no problem for me saying that they got 5 or 10 nonfunctional parts so I'll give the benefit of the doubt here and hope if you order them your experience is better than mine.
