PROS: Thick and strong industrial thread checker like you find at any hardware or big box store...figure out what you have and what you need prior to going shopping, or certainly to assure you order the correct bolt on line the first time. Nice foot pads and also easy to permanently mount on a work bench, fits in almost any tool drawer/box, and will go well in any work area mounted on a wall/door/or cabinet, has most metric and us sizes, and a few drill sizing holes in the bottom left. CONS: Only has 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch drill sizing holes along with 4-12 mm holes, would have been even better with more drill sizing hole too!, threading is decent throughout, but, perhaps just a hair loose in some of the holes (but, functional for sizing nevertheless). Nice product and could make a great gift. I think you'll like it!

I recently had to make multiple trips to big box home center in order find a nut to fit a bolt that was permanently mounted on the appliance so I cannot take it with me to the store, so when I cam across this tool, I was excited and thought if I had this little gadget, it would have saved me a few trips in the future. But it turned out that is not necessarily the case because of this tool's limitations.This is a solid piece of aluminum and it is very well machined and will likely last for generations, the quality is not the issue. The reason this is not a 5-star product is because of its' very limited sizes,particularly in the metrics range, where this tool skipped a bunch of common metrics sizes. The "15" metric sizes is actually only 8 that covers 2 pitches. I understand that more sizes would mean bigger tool and more expensive, but it should at least have 1 tool for all metric sizes and 1 for all SAE, instead of fairly arbitrary selection of both Metric and SAE sizes and wind up with a tool that's basically based on luck of the draw.

I can't believe I waited so long to get one of these thread checker devices. It covers every range of hardware I use 99% of the time. I am always scratching my head trying to guess what a particular screw is. Now its a snap.The unit comes on a well finished plate with 4 rubber feet for placing flat on a workbench. It has 2 slots for hanging. I found the hanging slots a hair too small for my slotwall hangers so I just drilled them out a little.This is a must have for a diyer's workshop!

Best investment yet. My husband put this in the back of his enclosed work truck and uses it on a daily. A must have for men working with nuts/bolts on a daily. Makes life so much easier. Highly recommended. Well worth the price.

This handy gauge make it easy to determine what screw or nut you need. You can run down to the hardware store and know exactly what needs to be purchased. It's hefty and sure to last your lifetime.
