It is recommended to use where AC electricity is accessible and stable.

Kindly note that the DPS180-U AC-DC power supply adapter can NOT be used to charge any batteries and can NOT work with solar kit.

Wire Connection & Support
For TOPENS Swing Gate Openers
Connect the positive output (RED wire) to “BAT+” terminal, and connect the negative output (YELLOW wire) to “BAT-” terminal.
For Other 24VDC Devices
Connect the positive output (RED wire) to “+” power input terminal, and connect the negative output (YELLOW wire) to “-” power input terminal.

I ordered this power supply adapter along with a Topens gate opener. I installed both and both have been working fine. I did have some issues during the installation because my existing gate hardware settings. I contacted Topens customer support, and their response was prompt and useful.

My title says it all. Was tired of replacing and maintaining batteries for my gate openers. If you have access to ac power, this is the way to go. If you do lose power, Topens openers have an easy key release.

Topens' customer service was great. Julie sent step by step photo instructions on how to change over from battery to our electrical outlet but it took the 2 of us to do it.....one to read and the other to actually install and connect the unit. It works well.

I plugged the device into the house and ran a long cord, 12AWG landscape wire with 2 conductors. Gate works great. This was a lot cheaper, and less trouble, than setting up 2 batteries in series.

We purchased a Topens A8 gate opener last year. I was initially hesitant to buy something of the sort online but was able to first write to the company to ask questions. Shelley from Topens promptly answered each and every question. With that kind of service I felt more confident placing my order. My gate opener arrived shortly thereafter. And again, Shelley wrote to me to offer any support needed for the installation. It all went very smoothly. It took me 2-3 hours to install the gate opener without any unexpected surprises or frustrations. Throughout the past year, our gate opener has worked very very well for us. Last month I had a question for Topens (to adjust the speed of the gate). Again, Shelley got back to me within a day!! She provided me all the instructions I needed to make the easy adjustment. I typically don't write long reviews of products, but Topens has surprised me with their excellent service over and over. I have no problems writing good things about good companies.
