Bought this with the D50III DAC and am very satisfied with the combo. This amp drives my Grado SR225 headphones from 1995 quite easily and has excellent clarity. Some recordings I had listened to before, when played on this setup sounded so much better with an openness that I didn't have before. My only complaint is the surface finish (black model) on the product attracts fingerprint marks easily. Also, the control/power buttons are a bit "cheap" feeling. I don't have any balanced headphones so I can't comment on the 4.4mm output.

Great product. The amp works great even without the DAC add-on. I use it for gaming with DT990 Pros.

Performs extremely well and powers any headphones you throw at it. There might be some niche headphone out there that is extremely tough to power, but that would be extremely far from the norm.Pairs extremely well with the D50 III, and the 12V trigger is nice to have so that only the DAC needs to turned on and off. Since both the D50 III and A50 III are both neutral and high performing, you know the sound coming from the headphones were exactly how they were designed, and any tuning can be done with the D50 III or software EQ.My only complaint about this amplifier is that the power button is also the button to change gain level. I have this amplifier in a stack with the D50 III, and I can totally see myself accidentally pressing the amplifier's power button instead of the DAC's power button if I wasn't paying too much attention. It would have been better if the gain was controlled through a different button or flip-able toggle switch.
