This is perfect for recording accurate amounts of rainfall. It’s very helpful as a gardener to know how much rain you’ve received to know how much to water. It also satisfies a scientific mind. Your data is also submitted to help with the overall recording of rainfall amounts across the country. This is actually accurate and can be used scientifically unlike the electronic ones or other smaller tube types. It’s durable and thoughtfully designed. Hopefully the material holds up to years being out in the sun. I’d highly recommend getting one of these!As a side note, submitting the data and keeping track of daily/weekly/monthly/yearly rainfall is nice to have. It’s pretty much worth the cost to me just for the data viewer/display!

This gauge is well designed and built. Thick container. Very accurate markings. The big container has a grooved ring to allow for perfect centering of the inside tube. Came with a cleaning brush which is very nice! Solid mounting bracket. Comes with options and materials for different mountings. Overall very impressed with this device!

I believe this is one of two rain gauges supported by the CoCoRaHS program. The plastic of the other one feels better, but it was getting cloudy before I left water in it, and it froze and cracked. A lot is going on with this gauge. You can see what you get from the picture. I don't care that the inner tube has mm and inches. I always look at the wrong one first. The top has an indent, so it snaps on. It is getting harder over time to get off. The finger grooves on the outer tube block you from seeing the inner tube if you're trying to look from, say, a window. Mounting it the other way would have the pole behind the tube, and it would still be hard to see the measurements.I do like that it comes with brushes to clean it with. I thought the pour handle would be neat, but I've never used it. I have big hands, so the finger grooves are fine. The inner tube has a pedestal, so there is no balancing while trying to put the top on like the other gauge. It has small wires you can insert into the top to keep birds from doing their business in it. These are becoming annoying as the top is getting harder to get off and will probably come out soon. Overall, I like the other one better—less fuss and easier to use. You won't go wrong with either one. It's still five stars because it does a great job of what it's supposed to do.

This excellent product exceeds expectations - measuring rainfall should not be difficult and it is not with this well-designed, speedily delivered, easily assembled rain gauge.

This rain gauge is well made and easy to install. I have it mounted on a wooden fence post. It was very difficult to read from the house until I found a very simple fix, as is apparent in the picture. A small fishing bobber with the spring clip remove. One quick snip with wire cutters does the trick. Works beautifully. I’ve only had it a month but I think it will hold up well. I will remove it in the fall because I only use it to measure rainfall. To remove it all you need to do is lift it off the bracket. The bracket will stay on the fence post. I am happy with the purchase.

Best price w free prime shipping i could find, the real McCoy. Essential accessories cleaning brush, bird spikes and heavy duty zip strip attachment straps. Heavier than the others that look similar, made from possibly Lexan, not supposed to crack when frozen precipitation (might take till next winter to confirm that though), important here in Minnesota, always had to bring my other rain gauges inside in the winter. With center tube removed will measure up to 13" of snow, outside tube only marked in inches no tenths but does Have mm on it as well. Bought this for CoCoRaHS, but wished i would have had this available years ago and saved buying all the other rain gauges over my span. I rarely write review so must be impressed.

Purchased as a Christmas gift. Installed today (in the rain) in our south Florida backyard. Seems to be very well made, heavy gauge materials, excellent fit and finish. Installation involved two screws. Time will tell regarding durability, but it works right out of the gate.

Many ways to mount this gauge. There is even a removable handle to lift it off the mount for getting measurements of over 1”. Easy to read graduations. Very accurate. Accepted by most organizations collecting rain data.
