I lost my original dock for my first gen Nintendo switch. Works perfectly and perfect picture on my television. Sometime has trouble waking up so you have to turn on the switch to get it to come in the TV. Overall very pleased and takes up little space

It worked for about a month then started having problems. I bought it for my daughter to use in her room when we were using the TV in the living room. The first time I used it, I plugged it in and changed the TV source to HDMI and no problem. After a month with limited use, when I plug the switch in it no longer detects the switch is plugged in. What's more it did something to the switch itself. We had to hard reboot the switch (hold down power for 20 seconds) to get the switch working again. I've read some horror stories where devices like this one can brick your switch. It didn't brick ours, but after forcing a hard reboot on my daughter's switch twice I'm returning it. Amazon customer support was extremely helpful. I'm a few days after the return window, but luckily they still allowed me to return it. I don't suggest risking your Nintendo switch with this device.

I purchased this dock for my home office. It worked fine and then my Switch wasn't turning on, dead. After calling Amazon support, we did the hard reset (holding the power button for 30 secs) and it came back to live.

There are plenty of 3rd party Switch docks out there, but very few of them come with their own power supply. This one has it's own power supply for a reasonable price, and for that reason I think it's 5-stars.In the box you get the dock, a wall adapter power supply (with a USB-C connector on the end), and an HDMI cable. The HDMI cable isn't anything special. It's supports 4k at 60Hz, but it's only 4 feet long. So unless your dock is next to a monitor on your desk, it's unlikely it will be long enough for you if your TV is mounted to the wall. Besides, that though, the dock works as expected. It's actually easily to dock your switch into this dock compared to Nintendo's first party hardware. Screen and picture look fine. There is a plasticky button on the base that you can use to switch between using the TV or using the Switch's own screen. Picture on the TV screen looks just as good as with Nintendo's. The only downside is that the USB ports on the dock do not seem to supply power while the Switch is off/disconnected. They work while the Switch is docked and actively on, though.So overall, while the HDMI cable is very short to be part of a dock package, the inclusion of a power supply makes all the difference here. A solid dock.
