The straps do fit on the connector as I’ve shown in the picture. Product is as described.

I watched the fellow’s video review here in which he demonstrated that it’s not difficult to attach these plugs to the cable. Indeed, it looked relatively simple and workable in his video. He questioned whether he just happened to be the only one of the reviewers who happened to receive a cap that was produced to readily fit the cable as intended. I thought, “that’s unlikely.”Now, my conclusion is that perhaps he was. Probably not the “only” one, but what he was using in his video is clearly different than what I received. The loops are visibly larger and more pliant. The loops on the caps I received were not even close to large enough and/or not nearly pliant enough. They are simply not the same - or, somehow he’s got a very thin cable...I tried a handful of things to enlarge the loops prior to stretching them over the cable connector. Each one broke or tore. The only thing I didn’t have the patience to try was warming the loop’s plastic under hot water before stretching. Who knows, that might work. I opted for the much more expedient fix, using a small zip tie through the loops to attach it to the cable. Not very elegant, but it is functional, cheap, and easy/fast.The cap performs its essential purpose of covering the connector — so, whatever. If I could go back and do this again, I might spend the extra dollar to try one of the other options. So, I can’t really recommend these unless the other options are the same or worse.

The rings on these stretch to fit over the connector so you can retrofit a broken cap. The plastic is pliable enough and the cap fits well. I also ordered a different brand and they were hard plastic and the rings had no chance of going over the connector.

I need to leave some pins exposed as a result of using off season battery maintainers and auxiliary equipment on season recreational vehicles (snowmobiles and ATVs). With a little hand/finger force (tools aren’t necessary but a small hook can assist) the ring ends can be pulled over the existing pins. Plenty in the package with good material quality IMO. Fit isn’t perfect but awfully close and good enough for my purposes. I would buy again but you get so many I’ll probably never have to.

Both of my bikes are equipped with battery tenders which have SAE connectors on the ends. When the tenders are disconnected, it's a good idea to cap the connector so that no debris or road spray gets into the terminals.I bought these to do that and they work fine. I did add a small dab of dielectric grease to the cap to make it easier to install and uninstall. This also protects the electrical terminals from corrosion. The retaining ring that holds the cap on the end of the harness does not easily fit over the SAE connector, but I tied mine on with a zip tie.Scott P also shows a simple way to tie a loop into the connector so that it will fit around the harness. I won't do justice trying to explain it, but his review includes pictures so take a look.If you have any equipment with SAE connectors, a pack of these caps is worth keeping around.
