  • Type: Encoder code with Switch; Adjustment method: 360 Degree; Number of pulses: 20; Pin Numbers: 7(5 working signal pins & 2 mounting pins); Rated Voltage: 5 Volt.
  • Shaft Diameter: 6mm/0.24"; Shaft Height: 15mm/0.59"; Thread Diameter: 6.8mm/0.27"; Total Dimension: 15mm x 12.5mm x 25mm / 0.59" x 0.49" x 1.0"(L*W*H)
  • In the forward rotation, the A line phase leads the B line phase; when reversed, the B line phase leads the A line phase. The phase relationship and number of rotations of AB can be identified using a simple digital logic circuit (exclusive OR gate and D flip-flop).
  • By rotating the rotary encoder can be counted in the positive direction and the reverse direction during rotation of the output pulse frequency, unlike rotary potentiometer count, this rotation counts are not limited. With the buttons on the rotary encoder can be reset to its initial state, that starts counting from 0.
  • Applications: Industrial control, robots, photographic lenses, computer input devices. circuit board design dimming and sound 3D printer LCD display, etc. ( CD players, for volume & on/off control or data selection by LED or LCD display; ..)

Description:
A rotary encoder, also called a shaft encoder, is an electro-mechanical device that converts the angular position or motion of a shaft or axle to digital output signals.
Rotary encoders are used in a wide range of applications that require monitoring or control, or both, of mechanical systems, including industrial controls, robotics, photographic lenses, computer input devices.

First one out of the box was DOA. After I replaced it, I was tightening the tiny screw that keeps the knob on the encoder shaft, and the shaft broke. Replaced that one, and the same thing almost happened, except this time the slotted shaft bent under the minimal pressure of a 1mm screw that wasn't even tight enough to hold the knob in place. I had to put some epoxy in the slot to keep the extremely fragile two halves of the shaft from bending or breaking. Even a plastic shaft would have held up better than whatever this metal is. Wish I'd bought higher-quality components.

I used one of these as a selector switch for a music player I built. I would have liked more documentation on pinouts and output behavior but that info. was not too difficult to locate online. I would reccomend for experimentation. The price can't be beat!

Based on another review I purchased these EC11 Rotary Encoders for my Ender 3 V2 Printer. I installed the part and it works perfectly.

I bought these to replace my Creality Ender 3 V2 LCD Rotary Encoder Switch. This Rotary Encoder Switch is a perfect match to the original switch.

They're digital rotary encoders with a momentary push button...exactly as advertised. One day the know on an Ender 3 wouldn't turn or push down. Ordered these, swapped it out. Fixed!

One thing to keep in mind if you want to test these encoders. I was under the impression that each detent moves one step in the quadrature. That is not the case. Each detent generates a full quadrature cycle. Therefore, you cannot test them using a simple multimeter. You need to use an oscilloscope, if you want to test them before using them in your project.

Very good quality and solid feel. The body is larger than most so it may not fit every application. The top half is all metal which adds to the rigidity.
