Being able to precisely place the center of your phone lens on the scope is great and all... but the thing as a whole is just bulky and awkward to use. No way around that.

I got this spotting scope phone adapter to attach to my C5, and I am having some issues that I had not planned on. The issues have nothing to do with the adapter itself but with my phone case. I have a very thick phone case with a pop socket on the back, causing me to not be able to securely attach my phone to the mount. I do not want to take my phone out of the case for phone safety reasons, so I am at an impasse. I am going to get a different phone case and then try again. I will update this review once I am actually able to use the adapter, but I thought I would let you know about the issue now, so you don’t make the same mistake I did. I can say the adapter feels very sturdy and well made, and I am confident it will work great once I am able to put my phone in the mount.

I've had a few of these types of devices, and I'm very happy with this one. It has a few advantages over the others, and I'll focus on those in this review:1. Highly adaptable to different eyepiece sizes.2. Works well with my phone, even within its case.3. Knobs make for easier alignment.I will say some of the connections are a bit loose and hard to keep tight all the time. That is normal for this type of hardware, particularly at this entry-level price-point. And yes, the price is also pretty decent, comparable to other items of this type, so I'd say this is definitely a good buy in this category of product, at the amateur / lower budget level. You can go a bit lower, but sacrificing functionality. (Or you could go higher, into intermediate or pro range stuff, but for me personally that's too much.)

I have had difficulty seeing thru telescope and binocular lenses with glasses on. When I found this gadget I had to try it. At first it looks complicated and awkward but once you start loading it up it becomes intuitive. My phone has multiple lenses for near and far focus. This mount makes it easy to move from one to the other without taking it off and putting it back. Just turn the dials. I can see much better, record photos or video, and am in a more comfortable viewing position.

I borrowed friends unit and couldn't get it to work with my iPhone 12. This one has a third azimuth/plane adjustment that dials it right in. I use for sighting in my rifle with open sights and an old red dot that does not magnify. One quick glance at my phone and I know were I'm hitting. I highly recommend this Vance Scope mount!

The main body of this appears to be cast aluminum. The screws are also metal. Turning one moves the clip on the scope side and on the other end moves the phone mount up and down. The phone mount box however is not metal. It appears to be a gearbox to change the twisting of the screw in to rotational motion, with the screw on the other side moving the phone grip out and in (to fit your phone without one of those spring-loaded holders - something I do appreciate). The build quality is very good and it also comes with a spacer to attach to smaller scopes.Getting your phone aligned can be difficult. If your phone has multiple lenses I definitely recommend using a manual or advanced phone mode, where you can select which lens or zoom level to use instead of it picking it automatically - otherwise it may select a different lens than the one you want or otherwise be extremely frustrating. Once you get it locked in though it should stay where you have it for the next time - that is one very nice thing with screws instead of spring clips. This takes a bit of setup but will dramatically improve pictures over hovering your phone at the end of a scope and trying to get a clear picture.

This device is a nice way to allow you to mount a smartphone on an eyepiece to use the camera on the phone for image capture. It has a Y shaped device to attach it to the eyepiece that works well and provides acceptable stability. There is a knob to adjust the position of the phone vertically and another the adjust the angle of the phone. These adjustments allow you to put the camera lens over the eyepiece. The mount comes with a plastic part to use with the eyepiece grip if needed and instructions. The only issue I have with the mount is the phone rotation/angular adjustment mechanism is just a bit too loose, it works but it would be better if it was somewhat more rigid once positioned.

I was skeptical if this would actually work with a phone with multiple lenses like an iPhone. But it actually does work nicely because of the ability of the phone mount to move and pivot to line up the camera with your optical device. I also like that it is all adjusted with screws dials and the phone itself is locked in with a screw clamp. Other mounts I've seen are spring-loaded and not as secure or repeatable.
