I bought this for 2 reasons.Most American brake lines are 3/16 in diameter.3/16 inch in mm is .476 a little larger than the .475 that comes in this kit.The .475mm being just a little smaller holds the brake line well.Most worries and complaints on flaring tools is they won't hold the brake line.The second reason I bought this kit is the separate reamer tool.Most other kits come with a reamer tool on the cutter.I didn't want that.I wanted a separate reamer.This kit comes with a separate reamer even though it is not listed in product description but is shown in display picture.It is much easier to use.Ream your line after your first flare and before your second.I did take a chance with the listed size difference and it worked out.I recommend this for the diy backyard fix your own repairman.Probably not commercial grade but works well.

Why are some dies SAE imperial and some metric dies and there is no EXACT metric equivalent die for 3/16 inch or 5/16 brake lines. I need a 3/16 inch die (not included) which would be 4.762 mm and the closest metric die is 4.75 mm or is that supposed to be acceptable tolerance for such high pressure brake lines? I also need a 5/16 inch die (not included) which would be 7.94 mm but the closest metric one is 8 mm. Again that doesn't seem precise enough.
