Das Set mit 3 Zapfenschneidern (1 inch, 1 1/2 inch und 2 inch Durchmesser) und 3 passenden Fostnerbohrern wurde rasch und gut verpackt geliefert. Beiliegend finden sich 3 Ersatzmesser und einfaches Montagewerkzeug.Die einschraubbaren Sechskantschäfte haben eine Schlüsselweite von 1/2 inch, das ist etwas mehr als 12 mm. Für die enorme Kraft, die zum Schneiden übertagen werden muss, ist diese Dimension genau richtig, aber in die meisten 12 mm Bohrfutter passen sie nicht hinein! Meine Lösung war, ein 16 mm Bohrfutter mit SDS-plus-Adapter für einen Bohrhammer zu kaufen.Bei der ersten Probe stellte sich heraus, dass die Messer zwar relativ scharf sind, aber noch exakt auf Maß eingestellt werden müssen, damit sie genau zum Durchmesser der Bohrlöcher passen. Wichtig ist, dass beide Messer auf die gleiche Schnitttiefe eingestellt sind, sonst werden die Zapfen nicht gleichmäßig rund! Ich benutze dafür eine ca. 4mm dünne Holzleiste als Einstell-Lehre, die bei der Feinjustierung in den beiden Schneidmäulern eingelegt wird. Das erfordert viel Geduld und Fingerspitzengefühl. Leider gibt es keine Bedienungsanleitung...Für das Schneiden der Zapfen wird viel Kraft und Drehmoment benötigt - ein Akkuschrauber ist als Antrieb eher nicht geeignet. Das Werkzeug neigt dazu, sich plötzlich regelrecht im Material fest zu beißen - also auf jeden Fall nur mit eingestellter Drehmoment-Sicherung und Zusatz-Handgriff benutzen, sonst gibt es schmerzhafte Überraschungen!. Ein Wechsel auf Linkslauf befreit es aber nicht aus der Blockade, sondern es wird lediglich der eingeschraubte Antriebschaft herausgedreht. Ein Bohrhammer mit zugeschaltetem Schlag kann einen festsitzenden Schneidkopf relativ einfach wieder losklopfen - deshalb benutze ich diesen als Antrieb.Ich verwende das Set, um Wildholz-Unikate zu bauen und bin, nachdem ich viel mit der Justierung und dem Antrieb experimentiert habe, mit den Ergebnissen sehr zufrieden. Vergleichbare Premium-Zapfenschneider aus Bronzeguss kosten locker das Vierfache und rechnen sich m.E. nur bei professioneller Nutzung. Für Anfänger und Leute ohne Erfahrung und Geduld bei der Werkzeugwartung rate ich aber ab. Auspacken und gleich Loslegen wird nicht funktionieren!

For this size, you would have to trim down, to fit, if they where bigger, handling might be more difficult, but they work.

I love these I have so much fun with them they are so sharp I'm cutting oak in hickory logs not pine and the blades are holding up real good just a little touch up with the strop they are hands down the best mortise and tendon said with an unbeatable price if you're into building with logs don't waste any more time out there buying them high dollar ones when they got a product out here like this as long as you got a strong enough drill a half inch or 3/4. 3/4 better it has more power and it might be wide blades are lasting so long you can have speed that trigger and it just cuts right through

I love the tool but the 2" broke after the first use. There was an inclusion in the broken shaft. I wonder what kind of warranty this product carries? I have had no issues with the 1" tool.

Do not buy this item. It is cheap junk! 1.5" cutter had both screws strip in the aluminum housing and the other side of the same unit had a very poor weld that did not allow the provided blades to install at all. waste of my time and money!!!

The product doesn't work, blades won' t fit and when you get them in they are at the wrong angle to cut. Powder coating is overly thick.....Didn't come with spare blades.....One of the threaded holes for holding the blade is oversized and wont hold tightly.....No adjustment on the blades.....Blades where marginally sharp.... I will be sending it back.....

must have powder coat removed to work! At first the cutter blade could not enter the cutting area, Sand off the powder caot where the blade sits and the inside beveled edge. Also where the 1 1/2 " tunnel where the cut tenon goes. Then it worked good for me. Almost worth the less paid price paid.
