My dad is old and has some obsolete navigation aids. I want to say they are called "atlas" or "paper map". Apparently this tool is the only way to figure out how far away something is. Seems a bit archaic to me, but he assures me that this is a 5-star product.

I haven't used it for measuring distances on maps yet. However, I tested it on multiple sheets of 8.5" x 11" paper. It consistently measures it as being 8"x10.5". I used a tape measure to verify that the papers were actually 8.5"x11". It gives the wrong reading consistently, so I can still use the produce and adjust the reading with a calculator - but I would have been happier if the product was correctly calibrated in the first place

It simply does not measure map distance accurately...if it weren't for that drawback, I'd have kept it. 🙄

Wheel is too tight to turn without ripping into maps. Complete waste of time and money.

The item didn’t work with out tearing holes in my maps for Geology class that I had to replace. The return wasn’t allowed to go through even though I was within the 30 day window. I would give zero stars if I could because it caused me extra cost to use this product and it still didn’t work.

Cheap, Chinese, CRAP. Poorly made knock-off. No working reset. I'd expect this quality from a $1.98 item
