I was a little confused about how to program it to my car because my car didn’t have a program button on the System that I have but I managed to find a place that installed a program button in my car and I did it how they told me how to do it and it worked the very first time and now it’s programmed to my car and it works perfectly

- Bought several remotes for two vehicles with older Viper remote starters.- Starters were installed on Toyota in 2013 and the original remotes got beat up and broken.- This is a direct replacement and works great.- Word of Caution: You MUST be able to access the "Valet Switch" that comes with your Remote Starter kit. It could be a switch on the windshield antenna OR it could be under the drivers side dash. Usually two wires black/grey with a momentary switch.- If you don't have one, than it probably was not installed and you will either need to install one search (Momentary Switch with Plug-in Valet Switch Compatible with Viper, Python, etc on Amazon).- Or if you have access to the starter black box: Driver side door open, turn key forward but don't start, you can use a wire to touch both prongs on the blue port of the box. Touch once, let go, touch again and hold until the LED starts blinking, press remote once & let go, etc. Then remove wire. Remove key, test remote starter. May need to do a fews times.

Dealer installed the unit, don't get me wrong everything tight and all taped up to where is was hard to find, after removing lower panel an a steel support there it was, key on then press program button once then press again and hold then press the fob button for about 5 sec then let go turn key and test, done. Worked with the 4205v perfectly.

I am not able to connect this with the automatic starter that was placed in my 2011 Nissan rogue. Original starter broke and was hoping to get it replaced.

The good - Remote is solidly built, nice and compact and - once I figured out how to get the system to connect to it - works phenomenally. It kicks the tar out of the original unit it replaced for range. The not as good - the instructions on the box miss a couple of steps (gotta have the driver door OPEN while connecting) AND the instructions from the vendor site are HARD to find and hidden behind a ton of material obviously designed to support retailers/partners and installation organizations. Hey Viper - if you're gonna sell these replacements to the "Average Joe", make it possible for the average Joe to install them reasonably easily and not have to go to an installer at $100/hr or more. The trick to this is to KNOW where the head unit for the starter is. (PROBABLY under your dash somewhere). The installation instructions told me to puch the button on the antenna - the equipment that is stuck to the windshield. MY antenna did NOT have a button - which led to ten frustrating minutes of peeling the remote off the window only to find NO button. THAT led to 30 minutes head first upside down under the driver side dash hunting around for the head unit and the little push button wire that lets the starter know you are attaching a new remote. Finally - this starter is in a 2014 Ford Escape. My truck does NOT honk or chirp the starter when it is connecting to a new remote. Upside down under a dash for 30 minutes is not fun when there is no feedback from the system that anything is specifically happening correctly. It was only after ignoring the part of the instructions that tell you to listen for a honk that I was able to successfully pair the remote.I am reasonably handy, and WILL follow vendor provided directions, and I'm cheap. If I can do the work, I will do the work, but even after successfully pairing the replacement remote this time myself, I will be VERY tempted to just go to a third party installer and have them pair any further replacements. Upside down under a dash for 30 minutes while nothing is doing what it tells you should be happening is NOT a good validation for saving some bucks....
