It's a stamped and welded piece of 3/16" steel, it fit perfectly, my opinion is it's extremely overpriced but it's solid and fit without issue

Beefy skid plate. Holes lined up perfectly. It is a replacement for the stock skid plate, not one that goes over the old one. So you do have to drop the gas tank, which I knew going in. It’s a pain but also a feature rather than a bug—the new skid plate doesn’t detract from your departure angle.

Very strong, well-built skid plate. Fit my 1997 TJ without any adjustments. Our gas tank will never be in jeopardy again while off-roading. Had to replace the tank straps because I broke both bolts during removal. Wish I would have ordered them at the same time as the new skid plate. As always, apply PB Blaster several days in advance to minimize breakage.

This far exceeded my expectations. The skid plate is very nice. It is heavy, but it provides the protection needed for a poly gas tank.

Got this for my 2000 TJ to replace my Tomken skid....the Warn skid is WAY better, mostly cause the Tomken bolts over the stock skid (less ground clearance) and the Warn replaces the stock skid (more ground clearance).***Install tip: Don't disconnect the filler hose at the tank, disconnect the filler flange at the body and leave hose clamps fastened. If you remove the hose at the tank, there is a spring/valve inside the filler flange on the tank that can fall out if you tip the tank on its side after removal. If you lose that sucker you're looking at $800 to replace the entire tank cause the spring/valve is not sold as a replacement part ANYWHERE. Also, depending on the age/wear/rust on your Jeep you will most likely need to replace the gas tank mounting straps.

When the item arrived, the box was pretty beat up, but the plate is quite sturdy and, other than some scratches, was unharmed. The real problem was that when I tried to install it, I could not disconnect the fuel lines. The Warn instructions show that this can be done by sticking 2 "picks" into the connectors to release them, but the holes for those, in my case, were against the frame (or body) of the vehicle. (The connectors cannot rotate.) So I took it to my local 4Wheel Part Wholesalers and for ~$150 they had it installed in about 3 hours. (Turns out there is a special tool for removing the fuel line connectors, making it easy for them.)In my case, my exhaust pipe is right up against the skid plate now, but it was very close to the OEM one, so yours might be OK. That's a separate issue.We had the Jeep out on a weekend trip recently in rocks. Since I do not have a lift kit (yet) the skid plate got a good workout. It did fine. It took some pretty good and unexpected whacks. I see only scratched paint, and no denting at all. Another good Warn product.

This is a great skid plate. I have an 06 and this fit with no problem no body lift needed and can take a beating. Well worth the money
