The best metronome! Well made, the sound is subtle, mechanical, pleasant to my ears. It's a delight to practice piano with this lovely metronome;)

Accurate metronome as far as I can tell. Measuring it using my phone app with tap tempo, it came out to what I set it to. When setting, I used the lowest part of the "knot", not the middle where it points up.At about 60 bpm, it go for a little over an hour on a full wind. At 200 bpm, it goes for a little under 15 minutes.I like how heavy it is. It's still plastic but weighs about 1.5 lbs. It won't be easy to knock over.Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. It won't go as long as a phone app but I find the ticking sound of a mechanical metronome less annoying than a computer beep. Besides, it's cool having a penguin watch you while you practice.

After purchasing this metronome, I went 2 months without missing a day of practice and I used this metronome everyday during that time. The clicks aren't annoying and make practicing with a metronome barrable. When you get frustrated, you can stop and look over at your penguin metronome giving you a nice but slightly condescending smile.

Super cute. Doesn’t keep time accurately. Our piano teacher Noticed it was off and set her electronic metronome to the same tempo. After 2 mins, the penguin had slowed itself by 10 beats. We checked it was wound completely and tested again with same results.

Adorable and great tone. Motivates my kids to use the metrinome and their piano playing is better thanks to it.

I've had this for almost a year now and it still works great, even after my piano students have handled it. It is quality workmanship, even with the silly look. (Which is why I bought it). I imagine that the tie could break if you don't follow the manufacturer's directions of moving the weight by using the center of the tie, but all of my students have been instructed, and, even though they don't always remember, the tie is still in excellent condition.

I love this little guy. Always brings a smile to my face and that's something when you're struggling through a timing issue on a piece of music. Don't let the cute exterior fool you - this is a precision tool. Put a little whimsy in your musical practice!

I bought this metronome for my children years ago. It's certainly not a toy. It's a very precise instrument, and a throwback to my childhood. But . . .While the bow tie tempo adjustment is really imaginative, I've always struggled to figure out where the heck the precise tempo "line" is. While a few points here or there might not matter for a youngster, if I were stuck using this to establish tempo for an accompanying job with a perfectionist (and I do accompany a lot), I wouldn't be certain that I was right on top of the tempo.Having said that, it's really cute. Expensive, but cute. My girls loved it.
