WoodRiver Bent Paring Chisels are a relatively simple solution for removing glue lines, trimming protruding plugs or cleaning out corners. We’ve taken our standard WoodRiver Bench Chisel and bent the tang at about an 18° angle. That provides the necessary relief to enable the user to grasp the handle while keeping the blade of the chisel flat on the work surface.
About Us: Founded in Boston in 1928, Woodcraft's operations were moved to Parkersburg, West Virginia in 1989. It's been over 90 years since Woodcraft first began selling high quality woodworking tools and supplies out of a one room shop in Boston's North End, and Woodcraft is still firmly committed to providing woodworkers with superior products and expert advice. We are America’s leading supplier of saws, hand planes, power tools, hand tools, wood stain and finishes, routers, sanding supplies, wood, wood turning project kits, dust collection, and wood carving tools. We also offer a wide selection of woodworking plans, books and videos. Our family of brands includes WoodRiver, Highpoint, Woodcraft, Pinnacle and Woodcraft Magazine.

Took me two hours to get this sharp enough to actually work as a fine wood chisel. Once sharpened it works great.

Fairly decent chisel for the price. The bend makes it much easier to pair on a flat surface and the wooden handle is decent quality. The steel is a bit softer, so you’ll have to hone the face a bit more often, but it also makes it easier to sharpen. Any chisel you buy will need to be honed, and this one is no different. Comes pretty close to 25 degrees from the factory, which seems to be a decent bevel for the steel, but I’d recommend a 2-3 degree microbevel to make tuning up the edge a breeze with a strop.
