Works great for my OC1 paddle. Well made with a layer of padding and a nice front pocket that fits my speedcoach.

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend. He hasn’t used it much yet (just got it) but I can share some early feedback. I also paddle and so will share my experience with other paddle bags compared to the Zj.The Zj bag accommodates two, mud brook type wooden, 52 inch long paddles length wise, BUT the fit around the face of the paddles is very tight and so it is hard to get both of the paddles into the bag. If you have smaller face paddles, the fit might be roomier. If you have carbon fiber face paddles, especially bigger face paddles, you might want to put fabric between them to reduce scrapes. It mostly takes time and so is less convenient if you want to use this bag as a way to store your paddles when dashing out to- or from- paddling. I think 2-3 inches more of room around the place where the paddle faces are, and an inch at least around the handles,. would make this a better paddle bag for daily outrigger canoe paddling/paddles. I don’t think it will accommodate steering paddles. The pockets, shoulder strap, material, construction seem good. For rapid, everyday use, it might be best for one paddle. The overall size of the bag is convenient for transporting on planes (as checked baggage) and because it is smallish and you can tell it’s for paddles (ie, doesn’t look like big sporting equipment and does not look like a rifle case), I think you will have less likelihood of having to pay higher baggage fees that are generally associated with sports equipment, and less hassle because it’s not like a rifle case.I have a larger, well padded, Kialoa paddle bag that has lots of pockets. It’s great but pretty bulky and I don’t use it daily, but only for long distance travel. It’s good for protecting multiple paddles of varying sizes and has plenty of room for other gear. I had airline hassles with baggage fees and worries that it was a rifle case. I have another cloth paddle bag that is similar in size and shape as the Zj sport bag (but it’s a little roomier around the paddle faces) that I have had no problem traveling with (ie, no high bag fees and no worries about it being a rifle case). I expect travel experience with the Zj to be similar, but the paddle(s) will be more protected in the Zj bag than the cloth one.Aloha had happy paddling!
