Works and does what it's supposed to do. I suggest replacing it every 6 months. Amazon's price is way better than chain pet store prices.

Great bulbs. Last long... Have used these for years for my red eared sliders and they love basking under it. I changed out after the time period when it stops omitting uva/uvb. The light itself lasts forever!

It's longer than a twist CFL bulb. Most clamp lights are too shallow to hold/ shield tube entire bulb so in our case we had to angle it weirdly so we aren't getting uv/ bright light in our eyes all day. I'm not sure why this couldn't use the standard twist cfl design other bulbs use. A simple fix for an annoying issue. I can't speak to reliability or other performance since it is so new but considering how the designers made a poor choice on something so simple, I'm concerned.

Unlike the Exo-Terra bulbs I was previously using, these bulbs seem to be extremely consistent in output and I now have four of the various iterations of them on different enclosures. I have noticed marked improvement in color and appetite in my lizards since the switch, and my bearded dragon (which as many reptile owners know, is a high UVB requirement species) who recently had x-rays for an unrelated issue, had no signs of MBD after nine moths of using this product. Furthermore, with this bulb specifically, I haven't noticed the eye related issues I had been having with a more traditionally shaped coil-UVB in that same bearded dragon, possibly due to the more tube-like shape that it has instead of the traditional coil. Despite the price tag, these bulbs are well worth the money.
