About this item

  • SMART FLOOD PREVENTION: Shut your main water valve automatically when a leak is detected to prevent costly water damage. The Titan actuator installs over your ball valve and comes with a plug-in leak detector to monitor water presence around it. It will work offline with the probe connected directly to the Titan but the device works best when included to a compatible Z-Wave hub (sold separately) for full wireless functionality.
  • EXTREMELY STRONG: Unlike other retrofit solutions, the Titan is equipped with a powerful motor that opens and closes even the most stubborn valve reliably. It calibrates on each individual valve once installed for optimal performance.
  • DIY INSTALLATION: You don't need any tools and it takes just a few minutes to mount and calibrate the device. You can use it outdoors too! Follow the steps in the manual and installation video carefully when installing the product. Check your set-up before buying: suitable for 0.5" - 1.25" ball valves only; 3" clearance from the valve center to each side on the pipe, at least 1.25" clearance between the valve handle and the pipe, at least 1" clearance between the pipe and the wall.
  • Z-WAVE COMPATIBLE: Get the most of your Titan Valve Actuator when you include it to your Z-Wave hub. Program it to shut the water off if water is detected on any of your wireless leak sensors (sold separately) for complete protection. The Titan works best with the Z-Box Hub and is compatible with SmartThings, Hubitat, Ring Alarm, and Home Assistant. Check with Zooz for compatibility before buying if your hub is not listed.
  • Z-WAVE LONG RANGE: This product is built on the new Z-Wave Long Range protocol for incredible signal coverage and ultra reliable communication. Your hub needs to support ZWLR to enable this feature. Equipped with S2 Security and SmartStart. 5-year extended manufacturer warranty once registered and lifetime tech support included.

Product Description

Titan Smart Water Valve Actuator by Zooz

Zooz Z-Wave Long Range Titan Water Valve Actuator

Are you looking for peace of mind?

Protect your most valuable asset from costly water damage, at home or away. Whether it’s an emergency, or simply for safety and convenience, the Titan Water Valve Actuator is a deceptively simple, powerful solution to stopping water leaks.

When used with a Z-Wave hub (sold separately), you can control your water valve from any mobile device, wherever you are. Connect water leak sensors (sold separately) to the hub to detect a leak anywhere in the home and automate the Titan to shut off the main water valve any time a leak is detected. The included wired offline leak detection probe identifies the presence of water around the valve and provides local monitoring without any connection to the hub.

Smart Choice For Flood Prevention

When can I use it?

Install the Titan actuator over your existing quarter turn ball valve without any tools. It's a simple retrofit solution that mounts on your valve in less than 5 minutes. Just make sure you have enough space on your pipes to safely install it. PVC pipes are OK too!

Why Z-Wave?

Z-Wave devices offer enhanced security with encrypted radio signals. They communicate faster, avoiding router overload, which makes them ideal for immediate tasks. You can keep your Z-Wave network completely off the cloud too.

Zooz Z-Wave Long Range Titan Water Valve Actuator Bottom View

Stronger than others

The Titan Valve Actuator is designed to handle even the most stubborn ball valve. Other devices out there are difficult to install and are just not powerful enough to move the valve if additional torque is needed. The Titan was designed to move any ball valve up to 1.25″. Both clamps are adjustable in length for extra flexibility.

You can install the Titan in minutes, no tools required!

Get more with Z-Wave

Connect the Titan actuator to your Z-Wave hub (sold separately) and unlock a variety of features.

Truly smart flood prevention

Set up Z-Wave leak sensors (sold separately) all around your home to report leaks and turn off the water when a leak is identified from any of the connected sensors.

Protect your pipes

If your hub supports advanced features, you can monitor temperature and get freeze alerts in the winter straight to your phone.

Z-Wave Highlights

  • 700 series Z-Wave chip for faster communication and more secure, reliable connectivity
  • SmartStart for easier and safer pairing (your hub needs to support that feature)

This product is not fully compatible with Ring UNLESS you go to the Zooz website and do your own research to get it to work. For full Ring functionality you are supposed to use pin number on box but there is no number LABELLED PIN on outside of box. Also included water sensor cable is too short. No extension cable is available. No phone support or address available., just email with no links provided and short unhelpful non answers! You can get this to work, but you will spend a lot of time researching it yourself on their website with no real help available. Would not buy from Zooz again.

Couldn't get the unit to connect to the Z wave hub. I thought at least if the water sensor works that would be good enough but it doesn't work either. Sending it back.

I was skeptical at first but wanted auto shut-off in case of water event. First, install was easy to set up (install guide was a little unclear) and plumber did NOT have to cut pipes for installation (big advantage). Affixing to pipe and water valve was super easy. Integrating to Ring and Ring water sensors was simple and no extra hubs or network required. Even though my main water valve is far away from my wifi, connection is strong and have not had connection issues. Hardware itself is sturdy and firmly affixed to pipe and shut off valve. I have used it to turn on/off water for plumbers but have not tested the auto shut-off yet. When I leave my home for overnight / extended time away, I shut off water using device to prevent any catastrophic damage.

I purchased this item because we were going to be away for approximately two months. We didn’t want to turn off the main water shut-off valve since we have a programmable water sprinkler for our backyard plants. However, leaving the house without shutting off the main valve is risky due to the potential for water pipe bursts and damage. After extensive research, I found this product. It works seamlessly with a z-wave hub, which allows remote management. I opted for the SmartThings hub and set up the entire system. The product has been working flawlessly, and I can schedule turn on/off using the SmartThings app. Definitely deserving of a 5+ star rating!Feedback:(1) Integration with Google Home: It would be fantastic if the product could directly connect to Google Home. Currently, I had to purchase a SmartThings hub (around $200) for compatibility.(2) Instruction Improvement: The instructions on how to connect the product to the hub could be clearer. Short tutorial videos would greatly enhance the setup process.

It took some trial and error but I eventually got it to fit the pipe. The setup was easy and so was hooking it into the Ring system. Can work with Ring leak/freeze sensors and can be manually controlled through the ring app.

Before buying this product, I had a few concerns. First, I wondered if it would work with my existing valve and pipes. Second, I had a hard time turning the valve by hand, so I wondered if this product could turn it.AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!The customer service was amazing, and the valve operator works! I was able to quickly exchange emails, photos, and measurements with them. I did have a small leak after installation, but it stopped. That wasn't the company's fault; my pipes are just old. I had not shut off the water in years. I have had some questions since, and they have been extremely helpful. There's nothing wrong with the device; I just like to geek out.It says to make sure you calibrate it. I did and it was very interesting. The calibration appears to be to determine how much force is needed to turn the valve. It starts using low power - my valve didn't turn at all and I thought it was a lost cause. But - it then increased the power in steps. It was the fourth or fifth step before it was able to turn it.I connected it to my Ring system. Be patient, it will connect. I think mine took about 3 minutes. I tested it by faking a leak with one of the sensors. This device turned off the water seconds after the alert registered. Cavaeat - it will only connect to SmartThings OR Ring, technically not both.Only downside - there's no way to lock it to the pipes. I mean, make it a little less easy to steal. You would have to unscrew the clamps so it would take a minute or so to get it off. At least it seems like it can't easily be connected to a different Z-wave hub (Ring, etc.) which kind of kills the value, no one else can use it. However, you can lock out the button so no one can come up and press it to activate the device.Very cool device.

I installed it in a few minutes. The product is solid and works easily, but I am having issues with my older VERA zwave hub, it states "Please wait, getting secure classes" and odes not work in Vera(using it manually for the moment). Going to get the ZooZ stick Hub and use Home Assistant.

I've tried several of the cheaper valve actuators and none of them worked quite right. This is the only real solution I've found that didn't involve actually replacing the original ball valve with a fully remote one. It torques completely and smoothly, and installation is significantly faster than the generic options. If the purpose is, say, to have it under a water heater to automatically shut off the water heater from a leak, you'll need to extend the leak detector cable yourself, or add a wireless one to the system. But, it was ideal for a main house water shut off to use in conjunction with my existing flood and freeze detectors. Worth the additional cost.

I purchased the Zooz Water Valve Actuator to work with my Ring system as I already have several Ring water sensors. The device was very easy to install and calibrate.I have tried other actuators but they wouldn’t work as my ball valve is somewhat difficult to turn. This device was able to operate my water valve without issue. The device was very easy to add to my Ring Application and configure to turn off my main water if a leak was detected by any of my water sensors.I am very happy with the actuator and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be able to automatically turn off a water valve.
