These are stamped out of steel, and they are have full bent tips. They are difficult to drive because they are so dull. You can see in the photos a side by side comparison to a sharp and effective pinch dog. These sort of work, but they honestly need to be ground down to a point to really work well.

I had never seen pinch dogs before I came across the listing for these. I have played around this the set I received, and checked out some internet videos on their use. They are a pretty ingenious old school way of clamping boards for glue up. The stuff I found on the intent mostly uses them in the end grain of flat panel glue ups. They leave big holes, but you can take care of that if you make your panels a bit long and trim off the ends. Alternatively, you can use a bead board or veneer the ends. I did see a few cases in which they were used on the top or bottom face of a joint. They will leave large divots in the face of your project.Pinch dogs are extremely simple tools. The outsides are at 90 degrees, and the insides are at an angle, so as you pound them into your work, they draw the two pieces together. One on each end of your joint is all you need for shorter panels. Add clamps to the middle if you have longer panels. In terms of quality, there isn't much to say. They seem to be made of sufficiently strong steel to last and stand up to some pounding.
