They do the trick. I used spray paint to paint them to be white so they match the gutter. We accident left our gutters down for the winter time and so far they are holding up 😌!!

Very easy to install and use. What would make this a perfect purchase would be to include a short chain and hook to hold the extension up against the house when mowing the grass!

Hinges are not nearly strong enough for copper downspouts. They work but the hinge mechanism had little to no friction to begin with so the extension would just fall on its own. Made up my own holding apparatus using a 10 inch long by 3/4 inch diameter spring. Attached one end permanently to the downspout and the other end hooks to a sheet metal screw on the opposite side of the downspout. If you're installing these I would recommend some sort of holding device/restraint so the extension doesn't fall when unattended.

Little stiff. Some oil to help. Got away with one per gutter. So far. But decent. Should hold up and are doing the job so far. Typical cheap screws. But they work.

The gutter extension hinges work perfectly! I had old plastic folding gutter extension hinges that just simply wore out, so I bought these new metal hinges to replace them. The new hinges are very well made, all steel, and very simple to install on the gutter extension. I highly recommend them!!!

After having read reviews on different hinges I opted for this set. They are sturdy, and as mentioned, they do need some oil. I used a drop of Marvel Mystery Oil. Worked beautifully after that. I have visual challenges and it's necessary to work mere inches from most all i do. Installing these was still simple. I did opt to pre-drill all holes for anchoring it. I found it easier to mount the hinges to extension first, on a work bench. Less time on the knees that way. Since recently installed, I have no experiences with wind. We do get much wind here, therefore I know I'll have to install some kind of keeper/brace. The ext. is 6 ft.

I regret that I didn’t do my gutter project right away so I could have returned these pieces of junk. They are so thick and heavy and I can barely make them move just out of the box. I would never be able to attach them to gutters without ripping the screws out on the first attempt at tipping the gutter up. Total garbage.

We put 4 sets of these on and they work great. Easy to install and sturdy. Would have been great if there was a white version.

Works great my only complaint is the tightness of the rivet. I had to oil and flex the joint numerous times prior to use to ensure the gutter extension would fold without stressing something. Another nice thing about these is that because of their design they work for both sizes of downspout (2x3 or 3x4). They also come with self tapping sheet metal screws.
