This is perfect for the holidays or school lunches. I had a standard kraft block of cheese and this sliced it well. I did have to stand it on the side, since the cheese was too wide for it to cut. The wires are nice and taunt and cut the block well. There was some resistance, and I did need to push the cheese through the other side at the end. But besides that it works perfectly. I would say to make sure your cheese is not frozen, since I don't think this could cut through that. I hand washed the cutter with soap and water and have not seen any rust spots or such on it. Will come in handy for the cheese tray at Christmas.

Quality is very nice and the handles make it easy to use. Works perfect on butter and softer cheeses.
