It does work with both dewalt & Milwaukee batteries that I’ve tried it with, BUT everything is an extremely tight fit. Very hard to remove both on the Ryobi side & battery side. The dewalt batteries fit tighter than the Milwaukees.I would try a different version next time.

I bought an old Homelite 18 volt cordless pole pruner to cut tree branches that are out of my reach. Cost $2 at the thrift store. Didn't come with a battery or charger. Looked the pruner up online and saw it originally took an 18 volt nicad battery pack. I have good Milwaukee 18 volt Lithium Ion batteries that are superior to nicads so this adapter was bought to use my existing Milwaukee batteries on the Homelite saw. Took a chance and the adapter works perfectly. The adapter holds tight to the Homelite pole pruner and holds tight to the Milwaukee battery. Perfect! The pruner fired right up. I like it!

This product does work. I tried it on a variety of tools. The only time I had an issue was placing an HD 12 Milwaukee battery on the Ryobi leaf blower. It didn't burn up or anything like that -- just the weight if the battery mounted in the sideways position made the contacts seperate and power failed to be delivered to the tool. For smaller, lighter, Milwaukee batteries however, it works great. I just carry the adapter in my work van to accomodate a couple Ryobi tools I use regularly instead of toting a Ryobi battery and charger around with me.

Update, returned. Ordered a 2 pack from another vendor at a discount and the deWalt battery fit perfectly. Literally had to use a rubber mallet to remove the battery from this adapter to return it! Don't understand the positive rating. They probably changed suppliers, but kept the listing to keep the rating.Purchased several of these previously from another seller, with no problems at all, insert and forget. I buy one per tool and leave it in permanently as I only use deWalt 20v batteries. To remove the genuine deWalt battery I have to first remove the adapter from the Ryobi tool, then force the battery from the adapter! Not what I wanted, nor what I expected. Back to Amazon! I really thought they had these adapters sorted out.
