There's a big difference when the web page states max load 30kg and when the manufacturer states max load 18kg.

Love this Ball Head. I chose it because smaller ball heads experienced creep when using my 200-600mm lens, My load rating was half the rating but it still moved no matter how tight I set it. The B4 is rock solid. Just a snug on the friction knobs and it stops all movement , except for panning or angle adjustments, you can still move those without the lens moving on its own. The knobs are different sizes so you don't accidentally mix them up, they have rubberized coating for a good grip and the Arca-Swiss coupler has a feature where if it were to ever loosen your setup will not fail off. Fantastic design. Quality is excellent, features are great and I highly recommend this. Don't confuse it with a light weight travel head, its not. It's bigger and heavier, but I don't hike 15 miles with my gear so it's worth having a rock solid setup. I see this head and my Benro tripod lasting my lifetime, it's that good.

I have a travel tripod that I like, but was never really happy with the ball head that came with it. After vetting MANY ball heads, I decided on the Benro B2 and I am very happy with it. It's not light weight, but I quite like the heft. I really, REALLY like the plate locking mechanism, where you have to pull the locking nut outwards in order to continue loosening it enough to release the plate. That's one feature that most other Arca Swiss plate systems lack, and one I need, since I sometimes find myself loosening the plate knob in dark situations - thinking I'm adjusting the panning knob. The friction knob is kinda cool, but it's really a feature I don't use much. The ball locks my heaviest setup firmly in place and doesn't drift any. The panning is smooth and nothing has any unnecessary play in it. I recommend this.

This ball is HUGE! :) I purchased the b5 and so far I like it alot it appears to be very solid. I actually bought this for a rifle and not for a camera. I will update this once I have had a chance to shoot with this head on my rifle!Update:As stated above I bought this for shooting my rifles. The largest rifle that I am shooting is a monster .338 Lapua! Let me just say that rifle has a very healthy kick to it! and this head takes that recoil like a champ! I have been completely impressed with this head. If this head can take the recoil of that rifle then it can take anything that a photographer could throw at it!

I've had this for a year now and am overall very pleased. Actions are smooth and quality seems high. I feel it will last a long time. A problem I have noticed recently , though, is as follows: When having a large camera on with a large lens, my Sigma 150-600mm C lens, at 4.3 lbs., I turn the tension up so that when I loosen up the head to move around it has some tension on it so it's not easily flopping around. The problem comes when I go to tighten the ballhead on my subject the whole thing tends to push downward and off the subject. I have to imprecisely guess how much it will push down and then tighten to get on my subject and this might even take two or three tries to get correct. A solution to this issue is to loosen the tension so it's real loosey goosey and flopping around. When I tighten the ballhead down then it does not have this tendency to push forward. It is unfortunate that it doesn't maintain it's position when tension is high for heavier loads but I also don't know if it happens on all or maybe just mine after time and use has passed. Anyway, keeping it for now as that it's only during special use times, heavier loads, that I really notice it and have to deal with it. My star score would definitely be higher, probably a 5, if it weren't for this issue.Upgraded to 4 stars in 4/2019 as I've been using it a lot and it simply, for the money, has been very solid. Glad I bought it, highly recommended.

This is the first Benro head I have bought and can only say that I wish I had started of with one of these, instead of wasting money on cheaper heads. The B2 head I have purchased is simply a wonderful piece or engineering. It works perfectly and smoothly in all directions with my Nikon D300 with the 200-500 lens attached. I highly recommend it.Although it states that it comes with a carry pouch , Mine did not .

I bought this ballhead after spending money on cheap ballheads and getting burnt. Sure I wanted to save money but I also wanted a ballhead that would not sag AFTER I tightened it up.Anyways, I started researching and came across Benro brand when I visited a local camera shop. I saw their tripod and ballheads there, held them, played with them and really liked the knobs that really lock the ballhead in place. They are well engineered, feel really nice and firm when locked, feel easy to turn when loosened and are fine piece of work.I haven't used Arca Swiss, Really Right Stuff or other expensive ballheads, so I cannot give you first hand comparison with this one. But I found a website that reviewed them all and ranked the ballheads and this Benro ballhead was very close in competition with them. After using it for nearly 6+ months and putting it through its paces both indoors and outdoors, I am really satisfied with it. I have used this baby with 70-200mm lens telephoto lens, Nikon D700, D7000 and now D600 cameras with flash and whole shebang.I was so impressed that I also bought the smaller B2 ballhead. And I loaded it up with all the above equipment and it did not blink for a second. If you are looking for a quality ballhead and/or tripod then you can't go wrong with Benro.

I bought this to go along with my Benro carbon tripod and they work beautifully together. This unit is silky smooth and the knobs are very useful with no give or sticking. Everything on this unit is gradual and smooth. Nothing jerks, sticks, or grinds. It holds a lot of weight (Canon 7D with 24mm 1.4 or 70-200mm 4.0 and flash) and has been very dependable in all conditions.I recommend it, but get a larger one if you have heavier gear. I think they come in three sizes and this in the middle one. It has been just fine for all my gear.
