Item as described. Socket for tap handle is 5/8", made do with a crescent wrench which implies very straight machining. Very sharp, cuts like butter. Threads are to spec. Feels very durable. Overall a quality tool and exceeded expectations. Would purchase from BestParts again.

This is just the tap I needed! Read many reviews of the tap breaking with little load on it, but this was not the case for me! I used plenty of Deep Creep and went nice and slow. Starting it was the hard part. After that I just went 1/4 turn, back out 1/2 turn and spray more oil until it was going along really well. Even though I was just chasing the threads I could still feel like it was cutting. So I would cut a 1/4 turn at a time and back it out a 1/2 turn keeping everything clean as I go. I ran the tap all the way through, backed it out to just a few threads left, cleaned it up and ran it back through again with my hands. Tap cleaned threads very well and the buffer tube threaded in with just my hands with no resistance. Ready to rock!
