This Bread Slicer could have been a great product because the idea is great but the plastic is too flimsy for a good bread knife; it bends when you cut the bread so you don't get a nice, even slice and it's just cheaply made. Something you'd probably find at a Dollar Store. The portability and design of it is great and I was hoping for an easy to use bread slicer for homemade bread but this just didn't cut it, literally. The Value isn't good!

This bread slicer is very lightweight which means is slides around quite a bit making getting an even slice of bread difficult even with the guides. I used a silicone mat and it helped a little. You'll also need a very long knife as the guides are closed top and your knife needs to be able to reach between and all the way across them. I do like that it is foldable and takes up very little space when not in use. All in all, I think I'll need to spring for a higher-end, adjustable bread slicer with a few upgraded features to get the most out of our homemade breads.

Works okay, slice is a little bit thicker than expected.
