This is a really nice carpenter square with all of the features needed for most around the house DIY, woodworking and basic construction projects. The aluminum build is solid and the seams /angles are neat/ true. Markings appear to be laser cut and are very clear. Quickly measure off square, accurate cuts and more. I like the color because it's easy to spot in the work area and contrasts well with all materials. Small and light enough to drop in a work pouch or tool bag; the rounded corner prevents damage to other items. While not the cheapest, the price point is well below others in its class and a very good value.

I have been using plastic squares like this for years that have to be replaced every year or so since they get damage from being dropped, stepped on, or hit with something. This aluminum square appears rugged and should last a lot longer. This square appears to have all of the features of a typical carpenter's/rafter square, so many that I'll probably never use some of them. I mainly use this at the ranch for building sheds and other structures to hold equipment, firewood, sawmill, mowers, etc. It works great for that, and I'll use it for woodworking also.Overall, a very nice aluminum square especially for the price. I expect it to last many years if not decades.

This convenient tool does much more than it seems it can. Right angles are an obvious use, but if you pivot at the indicated edge, you can mark any angle. You can draw lines parallel to an edge or measure an existing angle with a level or plumb line. If you have someone to show you the fine points, that's best, but you can get the important stuff from quality videos. This is solid aluminum, anodized orange with white markings. It seems the gradations are stamped in and filled with white paint. Those stamped hash marks are below the surface and will persist even if the paint is completely removed. All the numbers, tables, and other helpful markings are printed or silkscreened on. This is a quality tool with a well-applied finish and markings. This tool is helpful for nearly any construction job and will last untold years.

Fantastic square. I’d been wanting a better one of these that would beat up my pencils less than the old rough grey ones, have more defined cutouts, and be easier to read. This is a little on the pricey side at $17 regularly, but a great value at the current sale price if $13. I’m simple and was drawn to this one by the orange color. I still lose my squares but find the bright color ones are much easier to locate compared to grey/black or metal finish ones, and I really like a good orange. It’s accurate in all aspects I’ve checked so far. I used the heck out of it all weekend and it looks great after. While oh sale this is a no-brainer great buy.I’d remove half a star for the full price value but I have no other criticisms so 5 stars all day.

This speedsquare is great. The measurements are accurate, and it feels very robustly built. The layout is ergonomic and intuitive, and the bright orange color is helpful for quickly spotting it on a crowded workbench. For only $13, it's an excellent value.I find this square to be a great addition to any toolbox. It's accurate, durable, and the bright color is a nice touch for visibility. You can't go wrong at this price.

This is a very well made carpenter’s square. The aluminum is 5/32 inch thick by my measurement. The angles and inch marks appear accurate and they are etched into the aluminum rather than simply painted on. The lip on one edge is large enough that I can get firm contact with the edge of the board. Unlike another square I have, the edges on this square are smooth. My other square has one edge that is kind of wavy and that makes it difficult to get a perfectly smooth line. The only issue I have with this tool is that there are a couple minor manufacturing defects along the edges. Those are two very small nicks, one on each measuring edge. They are almost imperceptible unless you run your finger along the edge. I don’t think they will affect the way the tool works. I only mention them for full disclosure so perfectionists reading this know that they may exist. Overall, I am going to prefer this to my old square. I will be able to get smoother lines with this square despite the small dents mentioned above. Very good product.

I must confess I have been using a plastic carpenters square for years now since I left my Swanson speed square out in the backyard when I was working on a project. It wasn't until a few years later I found it and it was not in good shape. I bought a cheap one made by Irwin at Lowes and that is what I have been using. It came as a set with the larger size one also which I use all the time. Anyway, when I saw this one, I ordered it right away. It arrived really fast and in good condition. I already have a spot for it on my tool wall and can't wait to use it. I never really trusted the plastic ones, but by all means available to me to check it, it seems square. I am not a professional and therefore I cannot justify the cost of Woodpecker tools, but I think these are accurate enough for the DIYer and handyman.I like this one because it is aluminum has readable measurements on it and it is a cool looking orange color. I like the slot on top to use a string plum bob to check angles with. This will come in handy for roof pitches if I ever get around to building my wife her greenhouse. This is an awesome addition to my tool wall, and I can definitely recommend it.....

The Carpenter Square 7 Inch Rafter Square is a well-made aluminum tool that offers durability and precision for woodworking and carpentry tasks. Its lightweight design makes it easy to handle, and the markings are clear for accurate measurements and angle drawing. However, while the aluminum construction is solid, the price is notably high—nearly twice the cost of a comparable named-brand steel square. If weight savings and corrosion resistance are priorities, this could be a good option, but for budget-conscious buyers, a steel alternative might be more cost-effective.
