The good: It does its job really well, when it's charged.The bad: It doesn't stay charged for long. That doesn't matter too much after the kids are sick and you're keeping it charged because you're checking them frequently, but when you want to use it after a few weeks it's usually dead before you get to it.

It seems there’s always some sort of illness going around and having a reliable thermometer on hand is a must. This one is a decent replacement to another digital forehead thermometer I had that refused to read accurately. This one is simple: just aim directly at the forehead from a small distance (no touching the skin), press the trigger and wait approximately 1-2 seconds for your reading. No more sweeping the forehead and getting wildly varying results. This thermometer states to give a little time in between readings for more accurate results and I found that to be true. This also has a room temperature setting which did read accurately according to my wall thermostat. The only reason that I didn’t give 5 stars is because the plastic handle and casing doesn’t feel super sturdy. It feels like the kind of plastic that if it takes a tumble is going to break. I’m going to keep this and roll the dice: the performance is good so far, I just have some concerns about longevity. So far so good!
