Really like this mat. It covers just the right amount of area. I will say it was very difficult to unroll. I would suggest if possible leaving it in direct sunlight to maybe soften the plastic so it is more pliable.

I use this mat, but it is a little tricky to roll my chair around on a medium-pile carpet; the wheels sink into the plastic. It would be perfect on a harder surface or a less cushy carpet. I like the shape, and it fits perfectly under my desk.

I really like this very solid chat mat. It was large and thick and fit nicely between my two desks that form an L and my shelves in the back. The desk chair rolls well and the mat does not move - it stays on the carpet nicely.Unfortunately, I just heard a loud pop and looked down to see a huge crack with a spider web point under the chair. I have no idea yet what to do since this id a $100 mat and was only used for 3 months, but is passed the Amazon refund timing.Any ideas?

Bought this in Jan2018 for my 8ft shop/hobby workbench in a spare room and it has worked out great.I have the front edge about 3" under the legs of my workbench and have rolled back & fourth over this thing for 2-4hrs a day for 4.7yrs. Still slightly flexible, still easy to roll on, and not a single crack.I have replaced the Amazon basics chair 2x in the same period due to loose/cracked welds.

Good chair mats are hard to find. Two years into this purchase, this mat is still holding up strong. I have a medium pile carpet and use my computer extensively every day for work and gaming. My chair is also poorly designed and there is a protrusion underneath that has scraped the mat as I roll across it. And even despite this, it has held on strong. I have some cracks now in the very middle (probably from all the scraping), but they don't affect my rolling at all so I hardly noticed when they formed. It does move around a bit on the carpet as I roll across it, so I have to readjust every few days, but the gliding on it is so smooth I never minded. it is thicker than other mats I've seen, so I never had any depressions in it (only ~140lb though, so YMMV), or got my chair stuck, and no other cracks besides the eventual middle one that is likely the fault of my chair. The only reason I'm getting a new one is to buy a bigger one, but I will be making the leap and using the same brand. Definitely worth the price; I'd say it still has at least another year or two at its rate of wear.

This mat came rolled up and stiff. After letting it set to room temperature it still did not want to open up easily. ended up using a blow dryer to get product to relax and open up. Noticed in the process of doing that the plastic looked like crocodile skin. Not smooth like it was starting to crack. I noticed this all over the mat. Once open and I placed my chair on it the wheels instantly caused indentions in the mat. For being a medium pile mat the spikes are very small and do not keep the mat from walking. Mat in constantly walking and digging into one side of my desk legs.

It is shipped rolled very tight exteamaly hard to unrollafrer a week even with weight on it won’t lay flat. I would return it but there is no way it will fit back in the box. Out of 4 tried this is the worst and I will be forced to keep it because I can’t repackage it not pleased with it wish I never bought it.

Advertised (and priced) for medium pile carpet. It is used on a low pile carpet and within 2 days of use, the wheels from the chair have created indents in the mat. The $25 Ikea mat worked better. Not worth the high price tag for the poor quality.

Update: My original review was for the 60x66 size. I have now also purchased the 54x60 and the comments below apply to it, too. However, I want to add that it is a somewhat different shape than the larger version. The slanted sides do not fit closely to the edges of my L-shaped desk....they are more slanted so there is a gap between the mat and the desk now. Still function, but a little more effort to clean the carpet underneath now. My chair doesn't roll of it, so a small complaint, I suppose.Just got this to replace my old, cracked one from a different vendor. As the description says, it comes rolled up and as others have noted, it is a pain to unroll. However, it now comes with directions that basically say to let it sit for a day to warm up to room temperature to ease the process. I of course didn't notice that until after I got it positioned. I really like the shape for my L-shaped work station. It grips my medium pile carpet fine. While it is a bit thicker than my old one, it too gets little dents where the chair wheels are, but that recovers when I move the chair and is not hard to roll out of. As per the description, it does not have a beveled edge. Initially, it does smell, but I assume that will go away in a day or so. So, I think this product does all it promises, although it would be nice if it was 1) easier to unpack, 2) thicker so it didn't get the wheel dents, 3) had a beveled edge. For the price, I think those would all be appropriate, and thus I only gave it a 4 star rating.

Protects the carpet. I bought a thinner version. It won't stay in place. This thicker chair mat is much better.

I've been using this for several months in a corner desk and it's perfect. Moderate use environment (just me) but it remains solidly in place on short pile carpet and with a fair amount of chair traffic back and forth over several months to date no scratches or cracks in the chair mat.
