It simply doesn't work. Now, how hard is it to convert HDMI to DP? I'm just seriously puzzled, why don't they test these things first? before selling? it's wasting our time, wasting resources, creating pollution shipping, then having to return ship returned items, because it simply doesn't work. This can't be profitable for the seller, and frustrating for consumers. How hard would it be for you to test these things first? to make sure you're selling something that consumers can use.

I work in tech and always get frustrated when I have directional cables, this is great to throw in my diagnostic bag allowing me to test displays and cables with more confidence that I'm not just being stupid and plugging it in the wrong way.

HDMI to DP can't do 4k HDR 60hz. But it does the job overall.

I've been trying to create a setup that involves two PCs one of which is used for capturing the other one. The problem is my capture card can only do up to 1440p 60fps and there isn't a way to pass-through anything higher as it is a usb-c device with an hdmi input. I have a120hz TV and I at least wanted to reap the benefits of using it while capturing so I've been looking for a way to make this happen that won't involve buying an expensive capture card. After realizing I might be able to get around this by using the capture device as a second display, I took a look at the ports for my RTX 2060 only to realize there is one hdmi port and a display port and this is where the FThinkup 4K Display port to HDMI adapter comes into play.At first glance, I didn't realize it came with two adapters. I was only interested in the Display Port male to hdmi female so that's what I tested.I initially tried connecting the adapter directly to the capture card and that unfortunately only allowed for up to 4K 30fps or 1080p 60fps. I then tried to connect the adapter to my TV and that at least gave me support for up to 4K 60fps. They advertised the adapter only being able to support 4K 30fps but as you can see in the photo, it can get up to 4K 60fps.After connecting my capture card to the available hdmi port, I found that I can at least get 4K 60fps through with the TV and the 1440p 60fps that my capture card uses as well even when mirroring the displays.Unfortunately, it isn't a permanent solution as I am going to want to eventually take advantage of the 120hz the TV supports but at least I'll be able to take advantage of 4K 60fps on my TV when it's time to capture so it isn't a complete loss.

Pros:- Two Adapters - Male HDMI to Female Display Port and Male Display Port to Female HDMI.- Includes power cable for Male HDMI to Female Display Port.- Resolutions up to 4K.- Small Size Adapters.Cons:- Non-positive lock into port.- Power cable and port on Adapter is not USB-C.This FThinkup 4K HDMI to DP and DP to HDMI adapter set just work. The adapters allow you to have cables terminate with either HDMI or DP fittings. I have a lot of HDMI dual terminated cables but only one DP terminated cables so I did my testing with the Male DP to Female HDMI adapter. I use HP Elitebook Notebooks, HP servers, and Lenovo ThinkServers. All of them have Display Ports and no HDMI ports so I need adapters to connect to displays or video apparatus. These FThinkup Adapters work with various versions and ages of HDMI cables and Display Ports. The resolution capability of the adapter is dependent on the native resolution of the displays and the cables used to connect the display to the notebook/server. My tests indicate that this FThinkup adapter works for all the device resolutions I tried. I do not have a high refresh rate 4K display to test the stated limit of 60Hz maximum at 4K. I could test the refresh rate at 1080p resolution and it actually worked beyond the stated 120Hz maximum for the male D.P. to female HDMI adapter. In conclusion, these FThinkup D.P to HDMI/HDMI to D.P. adapters are compact, sturdy, and work to their stated maximum limits so I recommend them.

I wanted to get these because I have a computer that has two video outs. But only one of them is an HDMI and the other is a display port. Which I have a lot of HDMI cables lying around and no extra display port cords. So this worked perfect to plug into the display port and then use any one of my HDMI cables to hook it up to another monitor. The video quality is just as good as ever, the sound works as well, and it's just pure plug and play. The other cable that goes the other direction from HDMI to display port does need a power source from a USB. It comes with a USB cable for that reason and as long as you got an extra slot on your PC you should be all good to go. So, this is the perfect setup to convert any direction of display port to HDMI as easily as possible and get the most out of your computers extra video ports for more monitors in life.

I recently ordered the FThinkup 4K HDMI to DisplayPort Bidirectional Adapter Kit. It does not work Bidirectionally as advertised. The build quality is good, and it functions well for one-way connections, as long as it is not going through a KVM, but the lack of true bidirectional capability is disappointing. The USB power port on the device makes it impossible to connect to my monitor because my other HDMI cable is in the way of the power port. (I may work better with fewer cables to contend with).
