I wanted this to hang on my porch pergola so I can see the temperature from my kitchen breakfast bay window. It is very difficult to read the temperature indication. The big numbers are in 20 degree increments. I’d like to know if it is 27F or 35F, but I can’t see that amount of resolution. At best, I can guess within 10 degrees. On top of that, it is off by 5 degrees from three other thermometers and it is very slow to change as the temperatures warm up in the morning.

Had it a couple of months now. I zip tied it to the deck railing and it's perfect. The dial is VERY visible from a distance. Like all outdoor thermometers, I would avoid putting it where the sun can shine on it because it'll report higher temps that aren't accurate for the actual air temp.

Time will tell if the stainless steel is really stainless steel or if it is a stainless steel plating. Either way it seems well made and the glass lens will be a step up from plastic lenses that yellow over time.As for accuracy, no thermometer of reasonable price is super accurate. The one I got seems to be accurate within one to two degrees, which is good. The National Institute of Standards and Technology considers a thermometer that is within plus or minus two degrees to be accurate. When I say one to two degrees on my thermometer that is because a metal coil thermometer is not overly sensitive to small temperature changes. The temperature may change one degree but the thermometer not change, but change a bit more and the needle will move to the new temperature.So don't obsess over a degree or two, it won't change what clothes you want to wear.

It was delivered on schedule and very well packaged.It is very easy to read even from a distance, the colours are just right for readability without being gaudy.For an instrument at this price range, engineered to weather sun, wind, rain, the accuracy exceeds expectations at within 3'F which could also be due to the few feet distance between measuring instruments.

I just checked to see when I purchased this thermometer. It was in June of this year. It currently no longer reads the temperature correctly. I spent extra money on this thing; I'll just buy a cheaper one next time. It was nice while it worked.
