The Kichler 15E60BK Economy Series 60-Watt Transformer is an economical choice for small jobs or single specialty piece applications. The Economy Series Transformers are available with a black polymeric enclosure which resists corrosion. This transformer has an easy connect terminal blocks, an on/off/auto switch, and an on/off switch. The 15E120BK is featured with an auto-resettable in-line primary overload protection, as well. There is a thermal cut-off on the primary side if the need arises, and a thermal reset breaker on the secondary side. Your transformer selection will depend on the lighting job; size of the design layout, watts required and length of runs. Voltage drop will result in your lamps decreasing in brightness the farther they are from the transformer. Keeping runs as short as possible will minimize voltage drop and maximize light output. To figure voltage drop, use this equation: A (length of wire) x B (total number of watts for all lamps on that wire run) = C (cable constant - determined by wire size). Cable constant for each wire gauge is as follows: 10 gauge-11920, 12 gauge-7500 (no more than 250 watts or 200 feet), 14 gauge-3500 (no more than 200 watts or 150 feet), 16 gauge-2200 (no more than 150 watts or 100 feet), and 18 gauge-1380. This fixture is sold one per package. This is UL rated for wet locations and is rated for use with submersible fixtures. Unlike many others, Kichler Landscape Lighting Transformers feature epoxy encapsulation for greater protection and performance, secondary protection and auto-reset circuit breakers. So this is my second unit. My first one only lasted a few years, but found that it was getting hit with water directly so hard to think it was this things fault it died. However I didn't hesitate to buy another one if that says anything

Worked great for about a month and started to fail. Contacted customer service and they tried to blame the LED lights and were an absolute nightmare to deal with. I had to purchase another transformer and it seems to be working a lot better.

This purchase was a replacement part. The original device was provided by my outdoor contractor. It lasted for 3 years being used daily in the harsh Canadian weather. Since I could find the same model I bought this unit without further thinking. Without surprise, it works as expected.RD

I’ve been using two of these (one for front yard, one for back) and they work perfectly. I set mine for auto dark on, with a preset 4 hours of run time. Very simple controls. Seem very well built

This unit has been running one week now (not much of a torture test!) but I have had no problems with it. It's powering 4 Lemonbest ten dollar LED lights that I also got here on Amazon. The control is set to keep the lights on all night, so I have not tested the timer settings. It seems heavy and well-built. I hope the longevity matches the build quality.

Does the trick. I bought 2 of these. I wanted the less expensive 45 watt Malibu as I've used many of their power units, but they are going out of business and the units are no longer available. So I'll compare them to the Malibu units.First - they work good right out of the box and yes they are Kichler units. The Malibu unit has a separate photocell that can be positioned is a good location. These have a built-in photocell beneath the clear plastic control cover. I had to put tape on one of the covers as a walk light was shinning on the photocell.The cover is a little awkward especially if the unit is mounted close to the ground. You have to get on your knees to change settings.The settings knob label is an eye test as the numbers and letters are about 2 point. I have to guess - Let's see, off is all the way ccw and 2 hr is the third position so 3 clicks to the right.But these are the best on the market for this price level - unless Maribu comes back.
