...we use it for Celtic Sea Salt... I still recommend drying the Celtic Sea Salt on a cooking sheet in the oven before filling the grinder... definitely one of the better pepper grinders we've ever had! Highly recommended!

Lo uso para sal marina. Tiene una pequeña palanca de ajuste en la parte inferior. En el centro de la muela. El ajuste funciona bien. Muele bien.

I spent some time researching this and went with this product because of all the positive reviews. I used it for grinding pepper. It worked for about a month but I noticed if you ground the mill in a clockwise direction the grinding mechanism would completely close and no pepper would come out. If you switched directions the grinding mechanism would loosen so much that the entire mechanism would fall out onto the plate. Along with most of the peppercorns!Disappointing.

These are indestructible, washable and adjustable. Best grinder out there for both pepper and salt. One star off for aesthetic, I wish the design was more elegant.

UPDATE: while I still use and recommend these shakers (I have 2, white and black for white/black pepper). I have noticed one issue—the grind consistency set screw moves around. You have to keep an eye on it, otherwise sometimes when you’ve set it to fine (and expect that grind consistency), you grab it and grind and suddenly it’s a much coarser grind. I easily live with this and just check the screw’s position before most uses. I’ve been using it for so long, I know exactly where the screw needs to be for the grind I want—fine/sauces, coarse/salads, so it’s become a 1 second tacticle feel thing to check the grind—easy peas. Still love these grinder’s ease of use and truly appreciate that they never leave a speck of pepper on the counter! But I’m updating as I can see this putting some people off. This is my absolutely preferred pepper mill. And I’ve tried a lot, from the high output Unicorn Magnum, to a fancy battery operated mill from France. And well they all work well, particularly the Magnum if you need a lot of pepper fast (but is tricky to refill) I keep coming back to the Kyocera. What it really excels at is being able to grind finer consistencies of pepper. I like a medium fine grind, but if you want almost a very fine powder, this meal can do it. And what it does better than almost any other meal I’ve tested is to give a consistent amount at all times. And with its turn over design it never gets a speck of pepper anywhere on the counters. Something the Magnum excels at!At under 20 bucks, it’s a solid performer and an exceptional value too. You just can’t go wrong choosing it.

It seemed like constantly buying salt grinders that you throw away because they’re not refillable was a waste of money. I’ve had other ones with metal parts, but of course with salt, they can rust and get corroded. But this brand is ceramic and oh so smooth. It’s very easy and economical to refill it with whatever type salt you want. I bought a white one for salt and a black one for pepper. They really look great, work perfectly, and make a great addition to my kitchen. Highly recommended.

I used to put salt in my hario spice grinder but was having difficulty grinding anything out. The plastic grind teeth just doesn’t grind anything, nothing comes out. I have since switch to kyocera as the teeth are ceramic and they works like wonder grinding up the salt with ease. One thing to take note about about putting salt in any grinder is never to get anything with metal or stainless steel component inside as it will rust and corrode over time.If the salt crystals get too moist over time (which can happen in a humid environment), just pour them out on a sauce pan and dry fry them for 5-10mins to remove excess moisture.

This is my second ceramic pepper mill. The first one (different brand) is about 10 years old and still works great but I wanted a finer grind than it was giving. This one is that and so far it's doing a great job. I just wish these companies would offer a matching salt shaker that isn't a grinder. Freshly ground pepper has a distinctly different taste from pre-ground, but I don't really taste a difference with salt so I'd just as soon not have it in a grinder. A regular shaker would be just right.Update: I've been using this pepper grinder for over 4 months now and have to say that it is awesome! Over time, the grind setting loosened up a bit bit it is so easy to adjust (with it's top access) that in 5 seconds, I set it back to a finer grind. Love it! Hey manufacturer, please don't "improve" this! It's perfect the way it is!! :)
