Das ist meine schon dritte Lamy Füller. Sehr gute Qualität und Optik. EF Feder ist sehr small. Top.

Build quality is top notch. Super smooth and the Xtra Fine nib is perfect. Not scratchy at all.I wish Lamy would eliminate the ink window or make it bigger. It's too small and dark to be of any use, unless you hold it up to a bight light or use a flashlight.

I use Lamy for daily use for many years. I got this one to replace my broken blue lamy al-star. There is nothing to complain. I am not a fine or extra fine nib guy. I changed the nib with the medium nib.

Love the colour, love the feel of the pen - it's a great daily pen.I debated the nib for quite awhile. Reviews state the fine nib is almost a medium, which I definitely didn't want. However, the extra fine is definitely an extra fine nib. I'm still up in the air if I'll buy the fine nib.

What a wonderful, sleek pen, with a no-clog nib, comes in many beautiful colors. What they don't tell you is that the ink cartridges are filled with WATER-SOLUBLE INK. Womp womp womp. Nothing like doing a great pen and ink sketch and then putting a nice watercolor wash over it only to get a BIG, SMEARY MESS. So my beautiful LAMY Safari pen (actually, I have TWO!) is now living in the drawer. :(

I started using fountain pens a few months ago, and now I'm hooked. I have several pens, including 2 of my current favorites, Namiki Falcon (fine) and Lamy Joy 1.1mm, both of which are very smooth writers.I was looking at Lamy Safaris a few times and really considering to buy one, but I never did. When a friend's birthday came up, I decided this would be a good present (and I get to try it first!)I ordered the blue body, EF nib pen. It came in a really cool little cardboard box. The body has a elegant metal finish to it, not too shiny yet still gives the metallic appearance. The blue color is beautiful. I can't really describe colors, but it looks pretty close to the pictures.I loaded the blue cartridge that came with it and started writing. It is really smooth! At first it feels a little scratchy, perhaps because I'm used to slightly larger nibs of my pens. After a while, it turns into a really pleasant writing experience! The recipient of the gift is also very pleased with the pen. She's not a fountain pen user, but she didn't have any trouble learning how to use it, because you can write at various angles with this pen and still write smoothly. (Some pens have a certain 'sweet spot' where it's smooth, and not so smooth everywhere else.)Overall, it's a really good pen for the price, and I'll probably get one for myself soon! It makes a good gift, and I'm sure even people who don't use fountain pens would really appreciate this pen!

First, I will say that I give this pen 4 stars instead of 5 because quite frankly the design is cheap looking and decidedly inelegant in comparison to some other fountain pens. Heck, most other fountain pens. I don't much care for it, especially the clip. That said... the blue of this pen is genuinely beautiful. When they say "extra fine" nib, they aren't kidding. The ink trail this lays down is so fine that to get finer you would probably need a needle. Because it's so fine, the ink dries faster, and you get more pages out of each fill of ink.I really love how fine the nib is. I have a Platinum Preppy in Fine, and this is about 1/2 the width of ink laydown in comparison. The pen writes well also. With a nib so fine, it must be held at just the right orientation to the paper or it becomes slightly scratchy, but if it is oriented as it is intended to be oriented, it is very smooth.Somewhat heavy and overbalanced when the cap is posted.Seems to get dirty surprisingly quickly, and needs to be wiped down. I had to wipe mine down with a moist paper towel after just three days, and yes, I wash my hands regularly.Supplied ink is not my favorite for color or quality. I use Noodler's Heart of Darkness instead, which pleases me greatly. This ink works perfectly in this pen.The nib on this pen is stainless steel, and is not lacquered a different color, so if you use an ink that exhibits nib creep, you'll know it - and in my opinion, it looks terrible. Noodler's black does this, and I hate it... but it's a minor nit pick in exchange for such a wonderful writing instrument and writing experience at this price point. As long as you are not prone to losing pens (I lost two of these before I wised up and started leaving it on my desk only) I recommend this pen, plus the X24 converter, plus Noodler's Heart of Darkness ink. It's a winning combination. I very much enjoy using it myself. Writing is fun again.

I love fountain pens. I own a couple of nice pens, but wanted a solid performing desk pen for my office that I could use for hand writing thank you's and such, but one that I could comfortably leave laying around on my desk & carry with me as I travel - meaning I might eventually lose it. I'm unwilling to do this with my (it was a gift) for obvious reasons. I don't have a lot of money, so this was a splurge purchase for me with some Christmas money I was given. And I have been completely satisfied with the pen. The blue is truly beautifully applied to the aluminum. The pen is a bit lighter than I'd prefer, but that comes as no surprise since it is again, aluminum. It is well constructed in fit and finish.I chose the Extra-fine Nib because I really do prefer a thin line of ink. This borders on too thin, which is in no way a complaint. I was surprised to find it lays down a line narrower than my pens do. Impressive from a non-art focused fountain pen. The stores I tried this pen in only had Fine tips, and I'm still undecided whether I would still like to add a second Nib to my collection for variety. But for now I'm enjoy the very narrow beads of blue this pen exudes when I press it to paper.Having gone through a handful of refills on the pen, I can comfortably say it has written flawlessly. I write with it 5 days a week, though not a lot of writing, and the nib remains dry yet ready to write at any point. No collection of ink run down, no dried on ink clogging the flow. Haven't had to break it loose with some water or rubbing alcohol yet, and I've been using it for a good while now.I did also purchase the which is in my opinion a must have piece. Honestly it is disappointing that Lamy doesn't just package it with the pen and charge a few bucks more. I did purchase the ink, which was a mistake on my part. What I apparently wanted was that I had sampled in the store. The Turquoise is a vibrant blue whereas the Blue-black is nearly Navy blue in color. That doesn't mean the Blue-black is bad, just not what I had in mind. Since I now have 50ml of it, I'm sure I'll get used to it.The boxing the pen ships in nicely protect the pen from any normal transportation wear.In short the pen is functional and beautiful while remaining simple to operate. Most of the best things in life can be described as such.
