So far this has held up great for our girls! The lid has really helped keep the food dry too when it rains. I'm very satisfied with this feeder

I like that the openings for the feed are limited.

It holds a lot of feed; plenty of space for the hens to feed. Bonus points for this. But by the 4th day the hens had managed to knock it off the hanger by dislodging the handle. We put it back on and so far it hasn't happened again. The rest of the feeder is sturdy, looks nice in the coop, easy to see remaining feed at a glance, quick to refill. Other than the handle not being designed well, we like it.

Feed doesn’t flow down as I had hoped. I have to shake feeder to get feed flowing. I will hunt for another system.

I really like this chicken feeder design for a couple of reasons. First, the main feed holder twists securely onto the base. With the metal chicken feeders, we had a problem with the pins constantly coming out when chickens got scratching and having it tip over and spill food. Second, with this design the top is covered. Now we won't have chickens jumping into the main part of the feeder and pooping in the feed. Third the inside is coned nice and steep so the food will always feed out properly. With our old feeder, the slant inside was minimal so I always had to manually push it out with my hand at the end. Lastly, the feeder tray is subdivided. With our old feeder it was not subdivided and allowed the chickens to scratch and make a mess a bit easier. With this feeder, the feed doesn't full feed out and up to the edge, so it minimizes waste as well. With the old feeder that fed fully up to the edge, the chickens scratched and spilled a lot. This was a very intuitive design.I only have two concerns. The first, was that there was a tiny plastic peg sticking out from manufacturing that made it impossible to screw the base on at first. We shaved it off and the problem was solved so the first concern was no big deal. As a side note, the little tabs hooked to the feeder in shipping are meant to be pulled off and stuck in the twisted on base as plugs to hold it securely in place. My second concern is the feeder is very lightweight, so if it ever gets low or empty I can see my chickens knocking it off the cement block I put it on and potentially cracking it, but only time will tell and this may not end up being a concern at all.

I use this with my turkeys because the openings are plenty big to accommodate a turkey beak.
