It separates the dimmer/fan speed control from on off switches so you can leave the light or fan at a default speed/brightness. I will eventually put these in all of our bedrooms.

The rockers are backwards compared to ordinary light switches. Down is on, up is off. The dimmer can also get in the way a little, if the dimmer side is all the way dimmed, you may end up adjusting it up accidentally when turning on the light. These are minor imperfections in design, not a quality flaw, it works perfectly, came with instructions for installation that were not difficult to understand, even with the "flaws" I would buy again.

Supposed to be a light dimmer and fan speed but I am using both for lights. Left side in an infinite switch and the right side has 3 positions. Works great for me with lights over the breakfast bar on the infinite switch and lights over the table on the 3 position switch.

The hardest part of the installation was trying to get the switch body to fit in the electrical box. I replaced the fan/light switch in a 41 year old house. This switch comes with wires for 3-way operation. There is no way that another Romex cable would fit in the box I had. In fact I cut the two 3-way switch wires off to get this switch to fit in my single gang box. If you're doing new construction or if you can replace a small box, use the 20 cu in box for this switch. This is the third switch in this location and hopefully the last with its lifetime warranty.

I have replaced every switch in my home with Legrand Dimmers. I feel the quality is superior than anything at the big box home improvement stores. The action is very German, mechanical feeling. The fit and finish is excellent. Installing these wasn't complicated, just a bit of a challenge in the old galvanized wall boxes from my 1950's home. I was able to cram everything in though and am so happy to have the added functionality of the dimmers for both the fan and light. Great purchase and the black color matches every other light switch in my home. Good stuff!

Worked for about 12 months then it died....just enough time to be outside the return or support time period. No surge or spark, the fan control just stopped working. Would not buy again.

This is a good quality switch that was easy to wire. Controls the fan and light on the fan independently. The fan originally had a remote control but it hardly every worked. This switch just installed and now fan and light operation is just so simple. No labouring of the fan motor on low. It all just works. You’ll have to slide your wire nut connectors over to the other side of your double gang box due to spacing issues. Not sure how well this would fit in a single gang box. But it works and was fairly priced. All good.

Works great, exactly what I was looking for.Installs easily, I'd prefer screws to connect my wire too as oppose to the wires sticking out like this has but it works.The Light works and dims great right away (if your fixture has a pull cord on it, you'll have to pull it to the on position) and then from then on the switch will control it.. The same with the Fan once connected you'll have to pull the chain to start it and then play around with which level you want to pull on, I believe what ever the pull speed it will act as the top speed for the switch which has three speeds on it.
