These reverse-phase dimmers are required for some LED lighting solutions, and I've noticed that they increase the longevity and reduce the flicker of LED bulbs even when reverse-phase is not required. They're expensive, so you can do the math in terms of what makes more sense to you: replacing LED bulbs more often, or buying a reverse-phase dimmer one time so that the bulbs last longer.

If you have low voltage under the counter led lights that buzz when you dim them, this EL dimmer may solve the problem. This dimmer is design to be used with led lights that use an "electronic" transformer to step down the voltage from 120 volts to 12-24 volts. These under the counter lights are often daisy chained with snap out wires. If you use the standard box store TRIAC dimmers they will buzz. TRIAC dimmers are "leading edge chopping" dimmers that chop up the leading edge of the AC sine wave. They do not play well with electronic transformers. This is a more expensive dimmer that cuts out the trailing edge of the sine wave and is better tolerated by electronic transformers. This dimmer requires a neutral wire in your switch box unlike the TRIAC dimmer. This dimmer does not play well with old school "magnetic" transformers that use a pair of wire coils to lower the voltage. You need to confirm that your switch box has a neutral wire so I give this product three stars for ease of install. This dimmer is also much more expensive than its CL cousin so I give it three stars for value. If you just want to get rid of the hum, you should be able to remove your TRIAC dimmer and replace it with a standard on off switch.

I recently upgraded my undercabinet lighting to LED fixtures, which then led to the new fixtures being too bright for the space, thus, a dimmer was needed. I first tried a TP-Link HS200 smart dimmer as we have many TP-Link switches throughout our home. Unfortunately, the fixtures buzzed like crazy with that specific dimmer.Long story short, I now know way more about dimming LED lights than I should otherwise need to. After a lot of research, I decided this specific Lutron dimmer should give me a high chance of success. Turns out, it does! The buzzing is 98% gone (there is still an extremely faint buzz, but I have really good hearing - my wife can't notice the buzz with this dimmer). My only issue now is that the dimming range isn't as wide as I had hoped, but I'll take that specific tradeoff to not have constantly buzzing lights.

I installed this dimmer after reading numerous articles about how to get rid of excessive LED track-light humming noise. The lights had previously been paired with a "compatible" Lutron dimmer but were excessively loud and annoying. Because I needed the ability to dim the lights I didn't have many options. This worked beautifully and reduced the noise from very loud and annoying to barely detectable. It is quite pricey but was worth it as I would have had to remove the dimmer or get rid of the lights.

I was annoyed to have to purchase this low voltage dimmer because they are so much more expensive than the standard dimmers. But this one did work for my 3-way LED lights down the hall that required this. I’m satisfied but still not understanding the price tag.

Like many others, I am here because the cheaper Diva Dimmer by Lutron, which is "LED compatible", made my LED bulbs buzz like crazy. This was for a dining room fixture that hangs low and would kill the mood. So here I am spending 2.5x the cost of the first switch to get this second one but I am happy to report this fixes the humming problem! Honestly a $75 switch is insane, but cheaper than trying 6 new good looking LED bulbs. If you are in an older place, be forewarned that you need 5 wires to make this work in a 3-way (2 switch) configuration. Lucky for me there was a neutral wire jammed all the way in the back. I have no idea how the wires work, I have never installed a complicated switch like this one before, but if you read the instructions it should go easy enough. I also found it helpful to take pictures of everything before I started helping me keep the wiring straight since everyone likes to color code things differently... Took a star off for price, but the product is great.

Had an LED light fixture that kept buzzing with the usual LED compatible dimmer switch from the big box stores. Ordered this on-line after the manufacturer said it was the one to use. It came a day earlier than expected and once installed, it stopped the humming totally. Well worth the extra $$

Great dimmer and just the solution for the buzzing sound we were getting with our new Hyperikon LED lights. These dimmers do require that your house be wired with a white neutral cable. I opened up the wall panel before ordering to make sure we had the white wires. Everything worked out fine, except that I did get two of my blacks crossed on the dimmer's red and yellow cables. I did read that if you cross them, your lights might flicker. As it turns out, the lights weren't flickering but the dimmer's amber night light was. The other dimmer was fine, so on a hunch I switched the blacks and the flickering stopped. Nice product and decent instructions (they made sense to someone with zero electrical experience).

I replaced my "over the kitchen sink" fluorescent fixture with two LED bar lights. There are times you want to inspect your dishes and food, and. at other times you want to just see what your doing. I also got tired of attracting all the insects in the back yard at night to the kitchen window over the sink. I had to have a LED dimmer and the electronics in this expensive rocker-style dimmer, according to various articles I read, did it best, allowing for fine dimmer control in a very gradual, evenly distributed manner. The LED bars connected directly to the 120v AC current coming from the light switch. I didn't need a transformer to convert to 12 volts, like so many other LED bars require. It worked fine with the old "on/off" light switch, and when I upgraded the switched to the DVELV-303P, it was almost perfect. There is one spot about two-thirds down the dimmer control where I get an "ever-so-slight" buzz in the LED bar, but I have to really try in order to hit that spot. I am really impressed on how low I can dim the LED lights. I could make them barely glow. On the flip side, I also used a much less expensive LED dimmer, the Lutron Diva DVCL-153-AL, with my recessed 120v AC LED ceiling light over my kitchen table. I had to manually adjust this less expensive dimmer during installation to "define" the low end of the dimming range. The really fine control in this cheaper dimmer wasn't there either. For my application - bright or about half-as-bright or just dim - I am just as satisfied with the cheaper Lutron DVCL-153-AL. But I was more impressed with the DVELV-303P dimmer. My advice, don't buy a Corvette when an Impala fits the bill. But if you have an elaborate lighting design, get the DVELV-303P. Warning - the DELV-303P requires a neutral wire, which is frequently not used and consequently not installed in most simple single pole switch boxes, meaning re-wiring cost.
