Totally fit the manfrotto tripod it was meant for. It just does what it is manufactured to do?

This is possibly the worst Manfrotto product I've ever used. It will last at most, two or three days without breaking.

Glad to find this on here, as this piece has broken fairly easily and finally couldn't be patched up so I needed a new one. Advertised as used on Amazon but was actually still sealed in the original plastic. Thank you!

The reason I ordered this was because the original broke. This is just like the original. You really don't have a choice if you have this tripod--you have to order this spreader, but just be careful with the alloy connectors--they break.

The metal parts break way too easily. I teach photo and video at a high school and I think I might have to start depending on a new brand.Edit 11/14/13Instead of replacing this again, I decided to upgrade. I got a brass pneumatic quick release from Harbor Freight and replaced the broken part with it, a screw, and a little epoxy. Saved $95. I'm planning on posting a how to to the tube if anyone is interested.

I am beyond upset with my Manfrotto 546b tripod. I spent close to $900 on this and two of the leg locks are so loose (after only 2 months) that it can't hold a camera without compressing and falling (thank god only mt T3i was on it and not my 5d Mark III). Also, and why I am writing here, the spreader simply broke after 2 uses. The cheap metal connectors that connect the spreader to the tripod simply twisted and broke right off, making the this $900 tripod almost useless. For years I always considered Manfrotto as a genuinely strong name in the film world. I had to use my cheap, crappy tripod recently as a back up and it was only $45, and it's working better. It's shame the company has lowered it's standards so far.
