Don’t have anything to compare it with but it does do the job. It what they used in the hospital and skilled care when my wife went on tube feeding.

Exactly like they use in the hospital. It does a good job.

This is the exact pill crusher the hospital used. It literally takes pills that have coding on them and desecrates them! I’ve never had a pill crusher this good. It is very heavy, but I think that is part of the reason why it does such a great job.

In terms of your hands, this crusher is much easier to use because it doesn't hurt. But there's no place to hold the bag open while you empty/put the pills in. You have to keep setting the bag down to open another medicine bottle praying stuff don't fall out. It doesn't crush the inside beads of a pill capsule, leaving some to get jammed in my sons feeding tube. And you have to keep moving the bag with the medicine up and down in the crusher (to get them to match up to the grooves) so the pills can get fine enough to be tube fed. So none the less it's still hard but I do like it better than the handheld crushers we've used. $100 though..idk

Used in conjunction with the Silent Knight Crusher pouches, these are excellent for getting my pills crushed to a fine powder. I cannot swallow and I solely rely on my tube. It's important that the pills are finely crushed so that they do not block up the tube. The pouches are so sturdy that I can use them a few times to crush my pills. This is a heavy piece of equipment and it's solidly made. It's very easy to use. Just a few repeated smacks down on the handle, and my pills are powder.

I was skeptical about this high price item, but after reading all the positive reviews, I ordered it. My 86 yr old husband had a PEG tube placed in May and all of his 27 medications now need to be crushed to a fine powder. I've used the pill crushers that you have to twist & turn and they were awful. I received this pill crusher yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to operate. The Silent Knight crushes all my husbands pill to a fine powder, even the ones that are coated. My wrist and hand do not hurt anymore. I wish I had bought this product from the start. It is well worth the high price.

The Silent Knight is wonderful. I use it to crush pills for my dad who has swallowing issues and must have crushed pills with applesauce. It makes the crushing of pills so much quicker and efficient. Since I do not live with him, I set out a set of small dishes for the times I will not be at my parent's house.....crush the appropriate pills, put them in the glass dish, and cover it in plastic wrap with the day and time that it needs to be taken written in marker on the plastic wrap. When dad needs to take the crushed pills, he simply adds the applesauce to the dish. Still gives him some independence - yet makes me feel comfortable that he is getting the pills he needs when he needs. Just verify with the pharmacist that the pills you crush can be left in such a state for a period of a couple of days. If you are a caretaker, you will very much appreciate the Silent Knight! Worth every penny!

Using an Ergo Grip pill crusher for 3 months to crush pills 3-5x daily for enteral feedings was taking a toll on my fingers and wrists, so I purchased this to avoid further damage to hands that had carpal tunnel and tendon surgery 9 months prior. This crusher has alleviated that stress, but this is such a heavy-duty crusher that the pressure required to crush pills has the palms of my hands sore at my surgery sites. I would not recommend to anyone recovering from surgery to hands. However, I would recommend product to anyone with healthy hands, as crusher does crush finely enough for enteral feedings. In regards to the pouches, they are think and sturdy. I've been crushing 30 pills a day and using the same pouch for 2 days without any tears or rips. This product does exactly what description states, and well worth the money due to this and it's durability.

If you have ever used one of those cheap twist or mortar-and-pestle pill crushers and thought "THERE'S GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY!" . . . the good news is, there is! It's this.At first, I thought $80 was a bit much for a pill crusher. But seriously, the Silent Knight is a lifesaver:(1) Minimal effort required. All you do is move the lever up and down and maybe flip the pouch over once.(2) Zero cleanup needed: You just put the pills in the pouch, crush and empty the grains into a container of your choice.(3) Very little waste: No gears for the crushed medicine to get stuck in.(4) You won't get carpal tunnel or sprain your wrist.(5) It crushes a large number of pills at one time.(6) It doesn't take up a lot of space.(7) No batteries or electricity needed, just a little arm power. We were quite overwhelmed at the prospect of having to crush a relative's pills into a fine enough powder for an enteral feeding tube, but the Silent Knight made this process quick and easy. Very much recommended for anyone who needs to crush pills for any reason.
