The machining quality is just terrible. Several tips are broken and corroded. None of the chisel tips are straight and none of the gouges are symmetrical. These tools not only need sharpening before use, they need filing to create a useable edge.

Any beginning work worker will be hard-pressed to find a better deal for a set of detail carving tools than this. There is no primary large carving knife included though, so be sure you have a regular knife to use in conjunction with this set of tools to do detail work. The handles on the tools in this set are finished well and the overall weight of each tool is very light.Muy 14 year old son just started carving about 6 months ago and absolutely loves this set. Would recommend with no reservations at all.

These tools are really sharp which is great for carving into wood. Although they only fit into the case one way which is annoying. Otherwise these are a great product

You get so many carving tools for about $12. This is a great set of carving tools for beginners or intermediate carving skill levels. I wish it came with a booklet for beginners of which tool helps with what kind of carving but overall it's so great an offers 12 tools whit varying shapes for whittling. I recommend this set.

Not really an experienced wood worker. Bought the set and a mallet and got to work! The chisels work great, having a variety of chisels allow for more versatility for small detail, and the larger chisels for cutting out larger areas.

First off, the holder that the tools come in, and are supposed to be stored in, was ripped and falling apart. It is very cheaply constructed and with poor quality materials. The tools work, but the metal rings on the handle fell off of each one, the chisel end came lose and fell out of two of them. Easily to be glued back in, but these should not need fixed or completed upon the first twenty minutes of use. I would recommend them if you don't mind fixing them up, and you are in a pinch for them.
