This seems to be one thick ply of plastic guard material, but it is certainly sturdy. You could maybe sand the edge a bit smoother, but the finish is nice. I am using it on a home build project Strat-type guitar. Musiclily hardware is a godsend for budget minded builders who still want initial quality.

I got the pearl parchment one for an existing partscaster and it had a metal backer. The single ply black one did not, so it doesn't appear to be consistent from part-to-part.I was drilling new holes, so I can't say if the hole pattern matches anything specifically, but it does do a good job of covering the string cavity on a Warmoth body.

I bought this for a Squier Classic Vibe 50s Stratocaster. Unfortunately, this product did not fit properly. The screw holes almost lined up but not quite. One screw had to be put in on an angle and it was tough to get the others to line up too. Once you put in one screw, it would shift the tremolo cover ever so slightly as to cover or partially cover the other holes. I had to start all 6 screws and tighten down each one little by little. Lastly, the slots for each string that allow string changes without taking the cover off are mis-aligned. The first couple line up enough but the last two are so far off it makes it difficult to insert the ball end of the string into the block. So, unfortunately, if you're considering this product for a Squier CV 50s Strat, I cannot recommend it.

Tried some of their replacement parts,tremolo backplate,pickguard all in tortoiseshell plastic,everything was a perfect fit,best I,ve seen,and a very decent priceand quality

I bought and received this Strat Back Plate new and in perfect condition. It was sent perfectly packaged and actually a week sooner than expected. Right away I removed it from the package and installed it on my guitar in less than five minutes and the fit was a perfect fit. The screw holes in the new Strat Back Plate lined up precisely with the existing screw holes in my guitar. The new Strat Back Plate meets my approval and I would recommend anyone else to buy it. It has turned my guitar into something I have been craving for a long time and will continue to cherish. The best part is I only spent a few dollars to get this desired look I've been wanting without spending hundreds of dollars. Thank you, Musiclily!!!
